Rapid Recap
The Knights set the tone right away, coming out with urgency, energy, and a well-defined strategy. Mount Saint Mary took up the middle right away and controlled the pace of play. The Panthers were pressed back and under continual pressure because of their intense press, which produced turnovers deep in the Panther's zone. The scoring began early, with
Kaitlin Hansen opening the account in the 17th minute, slotting the ball into the net after a beautifully worked build-up, assisted by
Faith Welsh and
Kaitlyn Shotter. By combining precise passes and using clever off-the-ball movement to create space, the Knights moved the ball with purpose and continued to control the intensity of the first 45 minutes. Later in the first half,
Sophia Light doubled the lead at the 39 minute mark, burying a low shot into the right corner off a pass from
Christianna Macchi.
Mount Saint Mary wasted little time putting the game further out of reach in the second half. In the 67th minute, Hansen struck again, capping off a well-executed play set up by Welsh and
Delisianna Naccarato. Less than a minute later,
Kaitlyn Shotter joined the score sheet with a low right finish to make it 4-0, sealing the result for the Knights. It was an easy day in the office for freshman goalkeeper
Julianna Ewashko who didn't see a shot on goal and added another clean sheet to her rookie campaign. All four goals were assisted, demonstrating the Knights' disciplined and collaborative style as they continue to build and grow as a team. With this win, Mount Saint Mary improves to a perfect record in conference play and continues to establish itself as a powerhouse in the league. The Knights' combination of clinical finishing, airtight defending, and crisp passing makes them one of the most balanced and dangerous teams heading into the final stretch of the season.
