Rapid Recap
Brianna Guglielmo started the Knights off with 8 of their first 10 points of the contest, including an and-one. The Mount took a 16-4 lead just past the midway point in the first quarter after back-to-back threes from Elizabeth Lofaro and Guglielmo. Mount Saint Mary was eager to get back on the court after their devastating loss to Manhattanville only two days prior and it showed with their play in the opening quarter. The Knights's rotation went deep as all 11 active players saw at least 17 minutes of action and scored. They led the Panthers 23-13 entering the second quarter as Kate Hughes would extend their lead. An 8-0 Knights run put them up 33-14 as their defense smothered Purchase, only allowing them to score 5 points this quarter.

Entering the second half, Mount Saint Mary was up 39-18 but still looked to play good basketball till the final whistle. Freshman Margaret Trinkaus scored all 6 of her points on three straight possessions, giving the Knights a 25-point lead. Erin Lofaro made a huge splash offensively off the bench for the Mount this evening. In just 18 minutes, Lofaro put up a 21-point, 6-rebound stat line while shooting 9-16 from the field and 2-3 from deep. The Knights were extremely efficient this game, shooting 52.3% from the field with only 7 turnovers while forcing 22. This was the least amount of turnovers the Mount has committed in a game all season. They dominated down low, outscoring the Panthers 46-22 in the paint. Mount Saint Mary held a commanding 62-29 lead with 10 minutes remaining. A 13-0 run for the Knights to open up the quarter as their defense seemed impenetrable. Purchase was finally able to score six and a half minutes into the fourth, but this one was pretty much over as the Knights defeated the Panthers 83-39.
