OLD WESTBURY, NY– The Mount Saint Mary College Knights Women's Lacrosse team cruised to an 18-4 victory over the Old Westbury Panthers on Wednesday afternoon at Panther Park. The win brings the Knights' record to 9-5 overall and 4-3 in Skyline Conference play.
Senior attacker
Erica Schmidgall reached a significant milestone in the win, scoring her 100th career point. Schmidgall finished the day with four goals and five assists, Congratulations Erica!!
Victoria Ward led the Knights' scoring with five goals, while
Karlie Ferrucci contributed three goals and three assists.
Ella Garner also had a strong game with two goals and one assist.
Head Coach
Mike Lowell commented on the win, "A nice win today.
Erica Schmidgall got her 100th career point. Our offense played well and worked well as a unit. We have things to work on from this game for our conference game against Maritime. We as a team are looking forward to Saturday and our alums visiting."
The Mount defense limited Old Westbury to just four goals, with goalkeepers
Liz Petrellese and
Peyton Curley combining for nine saves. The Knights also dominated the ground ball battle, winning 28 to Old Westbury's 18.
