MacDonald Dominates in Dolphin Sweep

Newburgh, NY - The Mount Saint Mary College Knights softball team earned two big Skyline Conference wins against the University of Mount Saint Vincent Dolphins in a doubleheader on Saturday afternoon.  Strong pitching from Grace MacDonald along with clutch hitting led the Knights to victory in both games.

Game One: Knights Prevail in a High-Scoring Affair

The Knights jumped out to an early lead, scoring two runs in the first inning, thanks to a huge homerun from freshman short stop Chloe Graham.  Mount Saint Vincent responded in the third inning with two runs of their own, but the Knights would regain the lead in the fourth and extend it further with a massive rally in the fifth.

Graham continued her big day with a three-run double in the fifth, followed by a two-run homerun from left fielder Sofia Gannon.  MacDonald held on for the victory, picking up her fourth win of the season while the Knights' offense delivered a 10-2 win.

Game Two: MacDonald Shines

The second game was a closer contest, but MacDonald was outstanding on the mound. She allowed just four runs with seven strikeouts through seven innings of work.  With a 1-0 lead for the Dolphins heading into the bottom of the first, the Knights battled back as Olivia Ferara, Laura Dentato, and Sofia Gannon key contributors with crucial singles driving in runs these were key hits throughout the game for a 6-4 win and their second Skyline Conference doubleheader sweep of the season.
