Newburgh, NY- The Mount Saint Mary College baseball team played a hard-fought Skyline Conference doubleheader against Farmingdale State College today. Despite facing a strong opponent, the Knights found positives to focus on in both games.
Game 1: Farmingdale State 12, Mount Saint Mary 0
Farmingdale State's offense proved too much for the Knights in game one. While
Chris Calvario (1-for-3) and
Richard Lamping (1-for-2) had solid at-bats, the Knights were unable to break through offensively.
Game 2: Farmingdale State 25, Mount Saint Mary 2
The Knights faced a challenging start in game two, going down early in the game. They got on the board in the bottom of the 2nd inning with an RBI single by
Tyler Crocitto, scoring
Luke Barone. The Knights added another run in the bottom of the 5th on an RBI walk by
William Reese Kelly, scoring
Alex Nalewajk.

Hunter Mazzocco's Strong Relief Appearance
Hunter Mazzocco provided a spark for the Knights out of the bullpen in game two. The lefty entered in the 5th inning and held Farmingdale scoreless for three innings, striking out two batters and allowing just two hits. Mazzocco's outing was a positive sign, showcasing his ability to contribute in tough situations.
