Madison, NJ- The Mount Saint Mary College Women's Lacrosse team (3-2) fell to FDU-Florham (1-1) by a score of 16-11 in a rainy game at Robert Shields Field in Madison, New Jersey.
Despite the loss, the Knights offense put on a strong showing with six different players finding the back of the net. Graduate Student attacker,
Victoria Ward led the way with a game-high four goals, while freshman midfielder
Delisianna Naccarato chipped in with three goals and two assists. Junior attacker,
Anastazia Sakowicz, SophomoreÂ
Karlie Ferrucci and senior
Ella Garner each scored a goal as well.
In goal, Junior
Liz Petrellese made 10 saves for the Knights in the first half. The first save of game that Petrrellese made broke the Mount Saint Mary College school record for Career Saves. After the game Liz has 354 saves and she'll look to continue adding to her new place in the Mount record books. Congratulations Liz!
"We played well today," said Head Coach
Mike Lowell. "We were on the wrong side of the score but a good game by both teams. Our defense is getting better everyday. I was glad our mids and attackers worked hard to get close after being down 9-4. The team is looking forward to a quick break and getting back to playing Ramapo [College] next week."
The Knights will look to bounce back next Saturday, March 16th when they host Ramapo College at 1:00 pm.
