Knights Bounce Back with Dominant Victory on the Road over Purchase

Purchase, NY- The Mount Saint Mary College women's basketball team (15-7, 14-3 Skyline) responded emphatically from Tuesday's loss, defeating Purchase College (2-19, 2-16 Skyline) 69-44 on the road tonight. Head coach Marion Dietz praised the team's effort, saying, "Great team effort and good response from Tuesday's loss."

Balanced Scoring Leads the Way

The Knights showcased their offensive depth with four players reaching double figures in scoring. Lauren Petrie (14 points) and Sara Cashin (14 points) paced the attack, while Angelina Donato (17 points) and Charlotte Twohig (10 points) provided valuable contributions inside. The team shot 40.3% from the field and connected on nine three-pointers, showcasing their offensive versatility.

Defense Stifles Panthers

The Mount's defense was equally impressive, holding Purchase to just 44 points on 19-of-44 shooting (43.2%). The Knights tallied up 22 steals and 2 blocks, resulting in 36 points from turnovers.

Key Contributors Emerge

Beyond the top scorers, several players made key contributions to the victory.  Angelina Donato added 17 points and grabbed five rebounds coming off the bench.

Looking Ahead

The Knights will look to continue their winning ways when they travel to The College at Old Westbury on Saturday, February 10th, for a 1 PM tip-off. With a strong performance tonight, the team has momentum on their side as they head into the final stretch of the regular season.
