Asheboro, NC- The Mount Saint Mary College Knights baseball team fell to Greensboro College by a score of 20-8 on Sunday afternoon in Asheboro, North Carolina. The Knights offense showed fight, collecting 12 hits and scoring eight runs, but Greensboro's bats were simply too hot on this day.
Early Deficit
The Knights got off to a slow start, allowing three runs in the bottom of the first inning. Greensboro tacked on another run in the second before the Mount was able to get on the board in the top of the third.

Offensive Surge
The Knights showed their resilience in the top of the fourth inning, scoring four runs to tie the game at 5-5.

Greensboro Pulls Away
However, Greensboro responded with a six-run outburst in the bottom of the fifth inning to take control of the game. The big blow came off the bat of Ethan Sykes, who crushed a three-run home run. The Pride added four more runs in the sixth inning to extend their lead to 16-5.
Knights Battle Back
MSMC did not go down without a fight, scoring three runs in the top of the seventh inning. Freshman
Frank Signorelli had an RBI single, while Thomas Van De Bogart drove in a run with a fielder's choice.
Greensboro Finishes Strong
Greensboro put the game away in the bottom of the seventh inning with another four runs, highlighted by a three-run home run by Ethan Sykes.
Mount Saint Mary College Highlights
Adam Leone led the Knights offense with a 3-for-4 performance, including two doubles and two RBI.
Luke Barone and Jack Stella each had two hits and two RBI.
Freshman
Frank Signorelli collected two hits and an RBI.
Michael Di Tullio took the loss for the Knights, allowing six runs in three innings of work.
Looking Ahead
The Knights will look to bounce back when they travel to take on Union College on March 6th.
