Rapid Recap
Mount Saint Mary, coming off a loss the previous night to Bard College, looked to rebound on the final day of the Hudson Valley Classic against Vassar College.
Ryan Graham got the Knights going early, scoring the first two buckets of the game to go up 5-0. From here, the game would be all Vassar as the Brewers went on a 16-0 run. The Knights struggled both offensively and defensively in this matchup, shooting 26.9% from the field, while Vassar shot 51.4%. Mount Saint Mary took care of the ball, winning the turnover battle by a +3 margin, but this had little to no impact on the game's outcome. The Knights didn't crack the double-digit point mark until 8:00 in the first quarter with a layup from
Connor Cyran.
Justin Rivera hit on back-to-back threes as the Mount trialed 47-31 heading into the half.
The second half continued to be all Vassar as they poured points onto the board.
Rob Geremino scored seven of his team-high nine points in the opening portion of the half, but the deficit continued to increase for Mount Saint Mary. They only hit on 9 of their 35 attempts and even struggled at the charity stripe, shooting 3-7 on free throws. The Knights couldn't seem to get anything going their way against the Brewers, as they would end up losing to Vassar 104-54.
