Jonaiya Williams,
Ava DiScala, and
Julianna Simone brought the Mount back to within a point. They continued to hang around yet the Knights could not put together a run to take the lead.
Jonaiya Williams had a team-high 16 kills on the night and provided instant offense for them whenever they needed it. Eventually, St. Joseph's closed out the set winning 25-19.
The Knights looked to respond entering the second set as they once again started out scoring first. Once again, the Golden Eagles took the lead right from the Mount. A
Sofia Fredericks kill sparked a small run to tie the set up 7-7. St. Joe's went on a 6-1 run to go back up, as the Knights continued to hang on. Mount Saint Mary brought the score to within two late in the set but were unable to string together a big enough run to take the lead. The Golden Eagles won the second set 25-18.
The Knights started off hot with their backs against the wall 4-2. The Golden Eagles responded just like they did in the first two sets to go up 8-4.
Julianna Simone and
Jonaiya Williams kept Mount Saint Mary in the match with their offensive abilities. The Knights found themselves trailing as they had been in the first two sets, but a small spurt by the Mount made the score 21-20 St. Joe's. Four straight points from the Golden Eagles ended the Knight's season as they finished the set 25-20 and the match 3-0.
