Rapid Recap
Mount Saint Mary looked to rebound off their losses on Saturday against conference foe Manhattanville. The Knights were not ready for the Valiant's offense, as the Mount went down 10-2 before calling a timeout.
Julianna Simone tried to bring Mount Saint Mary back into it with back-to-back kills, but nothing would come of it. Manhattanville dominated the remainder of the set winning 25-11.
The Knights hoped for something a little bit different in set number two as they secured their first lead of the Knights thanks to a couple of
Isabella Israel kills to make the score 4-3. That would be the highlight of the set for the Mount as Manhattanville went back to controlling the lead. Mount Saint Mary hung around bringing the score to within two, 17-15, off a
Jonaiya Williams kill. The Valiants scored the next eight points to secure the second set 25-15.
Manhattanville jumped out to another early lead 5-0 to open the third set. An
Emma Wetzel kill followed by an
Ava Robles ace gave the Knights some hope, but not for long. Five unanswered for the Valiants gave them a commanding 14-5 lead with the Mount on their heels. Mount Saint Mary could not chain together anything offensively, eventually falling to Manhattanville 25-16 in the third set, and 3-0 in the match.
