Mary Langan Steps Up for the Knights

| By:
Box Score Ithaca, NY- It's often discussed among coaches and players, what it means to be a team player.  That question was answered today when Mary Langan stepped up versus Bombers when her team needed her.  Unfortunately the Knights goalie Elizabeth Lennane went down in the 32nd minute with an injury, and Coach Lyn, turned to his senior midfielder.

Mary Langan took to the net for the team and played her heart out.  Entering the game down a goal, and playing out of position, Langan, who is not a native keeper, gave 100% effort to keep her teammate in the game.  While the scoresheet doesn't show her effort or non-statistical plays, those who were able to watch the game, saw a player rise to the occasion and be a true athlete.  Seeing 24 shots, and facing 10 corners, Langan kept the Bombers to only adding 4 goals.

The next game for the team will be Saturday the 9th, at Salisbury University.  The team will be playing two games this weekend, at the Salisbury University Women's soccer classic.
