Men’s Lacrosse Begins Skyline Conference Play Wednesday

Knights host Purchase in conference opener

Newburgh, N.Y. – The Mount Saint Mary College Men's Lacrosse team returns to action for the first time since March 25 when it opens Skyline Conference play at home Wednesday evening against Purchase. Face-off with the Panthers is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. with Live Stats and Video available for those unable to attend.
 
At A Glance: The Knights enter Wednesday's contest looking to stop a four-game losing streak and are in search of their first win since an 11-10 double overtime victory at Marywood on March 4. Mount Saint Mary stands at 2-4 overall on the season.
 
Maxwell Green Wright (Central Islip, N.Y.) sits atop the team leaderboard in goals and points with 12 and 17, respectively, and is one of three Knights with at least 10 points on the season. Green Wright also adds 13 groundballs and three caused turnovers through the season's first six games.
 
Mike Travers (Staten Island, N.Y.) paces the Mount with seven assists on the season and checks in with 13 points to go along with 11 groundballs. Larry Frank (Staten Island, N.Y.) ranks second on the team in goals with seven and third on the team with 10 points. Frank contributes 11 groundballs and a trio of caused turnovers for the Knights.
 
On defense, Joseph Angelillo (Pompton Plains, N.J.) leads the Mount with 10 caused turnovers and 27 groundballs with Carmine Comitini (Staten Island, N.Y.) forcing eight turnovers and scooping 14 groundballs. Tim Doyle (Selden, N.Y.) is second on the team with 21 groundballs and third on the squad with seven caused turnovers.
 
Anthony Paggiotta (Wappingers Falls, N.Y.) has won 48 face-offs to date for the Knights and is tied for third on the team with 18 groundballs.
 
Kenny Leen (Miller Place, N.Y.) has seen all the action between the pipes for the Mount and joins Paggiotta with 18 groundballs on the season. Leen has turned aside 76 shots to date for the Mount and is working to a .514 save percentage and a 11.83 goals against average.
 
Previewing Purchase: The Panthers head to Newburgh on Wednesday with a 4-5 overall record and have posted wins in each of their last two contests. Most recently, Purchase overwhelmed Keystone 15-4 on April 1.
 
Zach Collins leads the scoring attack for Purchase with 15 goals and 20 points to go along with 14 groundballs and five caused turnovers. Shakim Carr has scored 13 goals and assisted on six others, adding 18 groundballs.
 
Angus Goldman rounds out a trio of Panthers with at least 10 goals, adding three assists, 23 groundballs and nine forced miscues. Andrew Agosto leads the way with nine helpers and adds three markers for 12 points.
 
Danya Boudreau Golfman and Riley Donovan anchor the defense for the Panthers with 15 and 11 caused turnovers, respectively. Donovan ranks second on the team with 29 groundballs to go along with a pair of assists.
 
Joe Ely holds a .625 face-off percentage, going 55-for-88 to date, and leads Purchase with 40 groundballs while chipping in five points on the offensive end.
 
Will Boes has played all 540:00 through nine games in goal for Purchase and has made 105 saves while posting a .583 save percentage and a 8.33 goals against average.
 
Recent History: Since 2017, Purchase's first varsity season, Mount Saint Mary holds a perfect 5-0 record against the Panthers.
 
What's Next: Mount Saint Mary continues Skyline Conference play with a trip to Farmingdale State on April 11 and a home date with Manhattanville on April 16.
