Newburgh, N.Y. – Karlie Ferrucci (Wappingers Falls, N.Y.) totaled nine points and nine draw controls with
Erica Schmidgall (North Massapequa, N.Y.) and
Victoria Ward (Oceanside, N.Y.) combing for 13 points as the Mount Saint Mary College Women's Lacrosse team cruised to a 22-4 Skyline Conference victory over Purchase Tuesday night.
Mount Saint Mary moves to 5-8 overall with the win and 2-3 in Skyline Conference play, while Purchase falls to 2-8 overall and 0-4 in league competition.
How It Happened
- Mount Saint Mary opened the game up early with nine tallies in the opening period.
- Shannon McGowan (Farmingdale, N.Y.) opened the scoring just 40 seconds into the game.
- Ferrucci posted three goals and an assist in the opening 15 minutes with Schmidgall scoring twice and assisting on two other goals in the nine-goal first period.
- Purchase got two of the first three goals of the second stanza, before the Knights scored the final four goals of the half to carry a commanding 14-2 lead into halftime.
- Ferrucci scored two more goals in the second frame with Ward adding two goals and an assist in the second quarter.
