Karlie Ferrucci (Wappingers Falls, N.Y.) matched her career-high with nine draw controls on Saturday, but the Mount Saint Mary College Women's Lacrosse team was edged on Senior Day 14-11 by St. Joseph's-L.I. Prior to the game, the Knights honored

Saturday's loss drops Mount Saint Mary to 4-8 overall on the season and 1-3 in league play, while the Golden Eagles improve to 4-5 overall and 3-2 against conference rivals.
How It Happened
- A low scoring first half saw the two teams head into the intermission deadlocked at 5-5.
- After the visitors grabbed an early 1-0 lead, the Mount got consecutive goals from Ella Garner (Wappingers Falls, N.Y.) and Erica Schmidgall (North Massapequa, N.Y.) to take their only lead of the game with 6:02 left in the first period.
- St. Joseph's evened the score on a Kayleigh Mimnaugh tally with 3:16 left in the first before Melissa Newman scored a player-up goal in the closing seconds of the quarter to give the Golden Eagles a 3-2 lead through 15 minutes.
- After St. Joseph's spread its lead to 5-2 with the first two goals of the second stanza, Ward scored three straight goals over the final 3:15 of the first half to get the Knights even at the break.
- Ward finished off a feed from Del Debbio to start the run before scoring her 30th and 31st goals of the season just 40 apart to tie the score at 5-5.
- Coming out of halftime, the visitors scored three straight goals over the first 5:35 of the third period to regain an 8-5 lead following back-to-back Emily O'Mara markers.
- Ferrucci potted two straight goals late in the third frame to get the Mount to with 8-7, but the Knights would not be able to pull even again in the game.
- Ward's fifth goal of the game with 4:45 left in regulation brought the Mount to within a single shot again, but the Golden Eagles scored two goals in the final 1:45 of the contest to close out the three-goal victory.
For The Knights
- Ward scored five times, pushing her season goal total to 33 and point total to 48. Ward rounded out a strong game with six draw controls.
- Ferrucci collected nine draw controls for the second straight contest and supported the offense with two goals and two assists.
- Shannon McGowan (Farmingdale, N.Y.) tallied twice and collected three groundballs.
- Del Debbio secured two groundballs and recorded an assist.
- Kate Crooker (Boonton, N.J.) finished a strong all-around game with an assist, four groundballs, three caused turnovers and three draws.
- Liz Petrellese (Levittown, N.Y.) played well in goal, turning aside 10 shots and matching the team-high with four groundballs.
For The Golden Eagles
- O'Mara scored four times and assisted on two goals while adding three groundballs and a pair of draws.
- Jamie Trowbridge finished with a hat trick, five groundballs, four caused turnovers and three draw controls.
- Amanda Gennardo and Mimnaugh each scored twice with Gennardo contributing four groundballs, two caused turnovers and a draw control.
- Maggie Harding picked up the win in goal with nine stops.
