Clermont, Fla. – The Mount Saint Mary College Softball team was in action Monday on day two of its Florida trip and split two non-conference games. The Knights suffered their first loss of the season in a 11-0 decision to Simpson before rebounding with a 2-0 triumph over Fredonia.

How It Happened
- A deceiving final score saw the Storm hold just a 1-0 advantage heading into the final inning before erupting for 10 runs in its final at-bat.
- Kate Kreigel ripped a double in the opening frame and later scored on a wild pitch for the only scoring until the final inning.
- Trailing 1-0, Mount Saint Mary loaded the bases in both the fourth and fifth frames, but could not push across a run.
- Simpson was held off the board after loading the bases in the top of the fifth.
- Leading 1-0, the Storm put together nine hits in their final at-bat to break the game open.
- Zoe Baker laced a two-run double to spark the rally and Maddie Luderman capped the big inning with a two-run home run to left center field.

- The Mount was limited to four hits in the game with Alicia Killeen (Nesconset, N.Y.), Laura Dentato (Farmingdale, N.Y.) and Sophia Reed (Rockaway, N.J.) all singling.
- Olivia Ferara (Middletown, N.Y.) ripped a double for the Mount.
- Bridget Morris (Yorktown Heights, N.Y.) worked 6.2 innings for the Knights, striking out seven.

How It Happened
- After suffering their first loss of the season, Mount Saint Mary responded against Fredonia with no-hitter from Grace MacDonald (Concord, N.H.).
- A scoreless game through four innings, the Mount broke through with the only run it would need in the top of the fifth.
- Samantha Bendig (Tampa, Fla.) drove in her second run of the season when she delivered Kaeli McAnally (Bay Shore, N.Y.) with one-out in the inning.
- The Knights added an insurance run in the sixth when Sofia Gannon (East Patchogue, N.Y.) scored on a two-out error.

- MacDonald dominated the Blue Devils, allowing just a lead-off walk in the sixth for Fredonia's only baserunner of the game.
- MacDonald faced just one over the minimum in the contest and struck out five as she moved to 2-0 on the season.
- Bendig finished 1-for-4 with an RBI.
- Gannon recorded a hit and run scored.
