Newburgh, N.Y. – The Mount Saint Mary College Women's Basketball team begins the home stretch of the regular season this week when it plays host to Manhattanville on Wednesday before traveling to Sarah Lawrence Saturday afternoon. At A Glance: The Knights had their 11-game winning streak stopped and suffered their first lost since December 3 following a 75-70 road loss at USMMA on Saturday. The loss dropped Mount Saint Mary to 15-4 overall and 12-2 in conference play with the Knights, Manhattanville and USMMA all with two losses in league play.

Katie Smith (Goshen, N.Y.) is the only Knights to score in double-figures through 19 games, posting 11.4 points per game. Smith leads the Knights with 3.8 assists per night and chips in nearly four rebounds and better than one steal per outing.

Lauren Desrats (Warwick, N.Y.) checks in with 8.7 points per game and leads the team with 27 three-point field goals. Desrats checks in with 3.5 rebounds, 1.9 assists and 18 steals per game for the Mount.

Asia Rivera (Saddle Brook, N.J.),
Kate Hughes (Belle Harbor, N.Y.) and
Erin Smith (Goshen, N.Y.) all contribute better than eight points a game to the Mount's balanced offensive attack. Rivera checks in with 8.6 points, 4.3 rebounds and a team-high 2.0 steals per game. Hughes adds 8.3 points and a team-high 5.1 rebounds per outing, while Smith ranks second on the team with 23 three-point field goals and is good for 8.1 points per game.

Mount Saint Mary continues to lead the league in scoring with just shy of 75 points per game while holding opponents to 51.6 points per game which ranks third in the conference. The Knights shoot 39.0-percent from the floor overall, 29.1-percent from three-point range and 67.1-percent from the free-throw line.
Previewing The Valiants: Manhattanville comes calling on Wednesday sporting a 16-3 overall record and a 12-2 mark overall. The Valiants have won their last three decisions, including a 74-29 triumph over Mount Saint Vincent last Tuesday.

Juliana Kascic fills the stat sheet for Manhattanville, leading the team in scoring (14.1), rebounding (11.0) and assists (2.8) while adding 1.3 steals per game. Jamison Agostino is also scoring in double-figures, pouring in 13.3 points per game while adding nearly two assists per outing.

Amanda Orlando supports the offense with 8.8 points per game and leads the team with just over two steals per night, while Niyona Smith checks in with 8.2 points, 7.7 rebounds and a team-high 1.5 blocks per contest.

Manhattanville scores 65.9 points per game, ranking third in the conference, and leads the league in scoring defense, allowing just 43.6 points to its opponents through 19 contests. Manhattanville is shooting 39.0-percent overall on the season and 31.0-percent from three-point range, but just 57.6-percent from the free-throw line.

Previous Meeting: The Knights took to the road on January 7 and came away with a 61-51 victory at Manhattanville. The Valiants shot just 42.9-percent from the free-throw line in the game, misfiring on 16 attempts.

K. Smith and Rivera led the scoring attack with 11 points apiece with Smith finishing the day with five rebounds and four assists. N. Smith led all players in the game with 12 points for the Valiants with Kascic posting an 11-point, 11-rebound double-double.

Scouting Sarah Lawrence: The Gryphons enter a Wednesday contest with USMMA standing at 7-13 overall on the season and 5-10 in Skyline Conference play. The Gryphons have won two of their last three, including a 67-62 win over St. Joseph's-L.I. on Monday.

Kendall Haymore and Kumi Tamura lead the scoring attack for the Gryphons, averaging 14.1 and 13.5 points, respectively. Haymore is good for a double-double, adding a team-high 11.0 rebounds per night with Tamura registering a team-best 1.7 steals per game.

Colleen Coughlin leads the way for Sarah Lawrence with just over four assists per game and supports the scoring attack with 9.5 points per game.
