Newburgh, N.Y. - The Mount Saint Mary College Women's Basketball team will put its five-game winning streak on the line starting Wednesday when it hosts Sarah Lawrence before taking to the road to tussle with St. Joseph's-Brooklyn on Saturday. At A Glance: Winners of five straight contests, the Mount begins the new week on Wednesday at 9-3 overall and 6-1 in Skyline Conference play. The Knights have not lost since a 72-66 overtime defeat at St. Joseph's-L.I. on December 3 and are defeating opponents by an average of 38 points over their five-game run.
Katie Smith (Goshen, N.Y.), who was named the Skyline Conference Player of the Week on Tuesday, leads the Mount's offensive attack with 9.5 points per game to go along with a team-high 3.3 assists per outing. Smith is shooting an even 40-percent from the field and adds just shy of four rebounds per night.
Lauren Desrats (Warwick, N.Y.) checks in with 8.8 points per game and leads the team with 16 three-point field goals while adding 3.5 rebounds per contest.
Asia Rivera (Saddle Brook, N.J.) and
Erin Smith (Goshen, N.Y.) support the offense with 7.8 and 7.6 points per game. E. Smith is second on the team with 13 triples, while Rivera adds 4.1 rebounds and nearly two steals per game.
Charlotte Twohig (Syossett, N.Y.) leads the Mount with just over two thefts per game with
Kate Hughes (Belle Harbor, N.Y.) leading the team with 4.2 rebounds per game to go along with 6.0 points per contest.
Mount Saint Mary leads the Skyline Conference in scoring with 72.1 points per game and is third in the league in scoring defense, allowing just under 51 points per night. The Mount is shooting 37.9-percent from the field overall, 27.5-percent from three-point range and 64.1-percent from the free-throw line.
Scouting Sarah Lawrence: The Gryphons are coming off a 73-48 conference loss to USMMA on Saturday, but have won three of their last four and enter Wednesday's contest at 5-6 overall and an even 3-3 in Skyline play.
Kumi Tamura leads the way for Sarah Lawrence with 16.0 points and 1.8 steals per game while also holding the team lead with 26 three-point field goals. Kendall Haymore enters Wednesday's game averaging 13.0 points and 9.5 rebounds, while Jordyn Medina leads the team on the glass with 9.6 caroms per outing.
Colleen Coughlin hands out just shy of four assists per game for the Gryphons and chips in 8.0 points, 3.6 rebounds and 1.5 steals per night.
Sarah Lawrence scores just under 61 points per game as a team and shoots 34.2-percent overall, 25.5-percent from three-point range and 68.0-percent from the free-throw line.

Previewing St. Joseph's-Brooklyn: The Bears got back into the win column on Saturday with an impressive 82-43 victory over Farmingdale State. Saturday's win moved St. Joseph's to 5-6 overall and 3-4 in league play heading into a road game at the College of Mount Saint Vincent on Wednesday.
Emma Kiley is in the midst of a strong all-around season, averaging a double-double with 13.4 points and 11.2 rebounds per game. Kiley leads the conference in blocks per game with 3.5, while ranking four in rebounding, to go along with 1.8 assists per outing.
Destiny Hurt supports the offense with 13.1 points per game, while Alexis Breen chips in 8.5 points per tilt while leading the team with 2.7 assists per game.
The Bears are good for 60.9 points per game while converting at 33.8-percent overall, 26.1-percent from three-point range and 68.1-percent from the free-throw line.
Recent History: Since the beginning of the 2013-14 season, Mount Saint Mary holds a 12-2 advantage in the series with the Bears.
