Women’s Soccer To Host Sarah Lawrence, Maritime

Knights continue 2022 season with pair of Skyline Conferences tilts

Newburgh, N.Y. – The Mount Saint Mary College Women's Soccer team kicks off a two-game week Wednesday night when it plays host to Sarah Lawrence. The Knights will also have another home tilt on Saturday afternoon when they square-off with Maritime. Live Stats and Video will be provided for both contests.

At A Glance: Mount Saint Mary is 2-6-2 overall on the campaign and 2-0-1 in league play. The Knights played to a 1-1 draw against Manhattanville on Saturday.

Kaitlin Hansen (Port Jervis, N.Y.) and Megan Stosch (North Babylon, N.Y.) lead the Knights offense, having both scored three goals. Darla Petricca (New Hyde Park, N.Y.) has a team-high three assists, while Maggie Zecca (Mountainside, N.J.) is tied for the team lead with 16 shots.

Christina Kakavas (Hopewell Junction, N.Y.) has made 18 saves in goal to date this season, good for a 2.42 goals against average.

Previewing Sarah Lawrence: The Gryphons are 4-3-1 overall on the season and 1-0 in Skyline Conference contests. Sarah Lawrence dropped a 4-0 decision to NYU on Monday. Cora Colvin has scored five goals this season, good for the team lead. Viktoria Balbin has the team lead in assists with three and is second with 23 shots.

Bridgette Lee and Maya Pfeiffer have split time in goal, with Lee owning a 1.33 goals against average, and Pfeiffer recording a 1.71 goals against average.

Recent History: Mount Saint Mary is 8-0 against Sarah Lawrence since 2014, outscoring the Gryphons 42-0 in those contests.

Scouting Maritime: The Privateers are 3-3 overall this year, and 2-0 in conference play heading into a Wednesday home tilt against St. Joseph's-L.I. Kiera Ford and Kathryn Sandford lead the Maritime scoring attack, each recording five goals. Ford adds a team-high three assists to sit atop the team leaderboard in points with 13.

Liz Pomaro has started four of the six games in goal, making 16 saves.

Recent History: The two sides have faced off 14 times dating back to 2007, with the Knights going 14-0 in those contests and outscoring Maritime 82-1.

What's Next: Mount Saint Mary will go on the road to take on Mount Saint Vincent on October 4 and Farmingdale on October 8.
