Women’s Volleyball Set For Three Matches At Home

Knights square off with Yeshiva Thursday, Baruch and Delaware Valley Saturday

Newburgh N.Y. – The Mount Saint Mary College Women's Volleyball team opens its five-game homestand this week with three matches. The Knights will face off with Yeshiva on Thursday evening before taking on Baruch and Delaware Valley Saturday. Live Stats and video will be available for all three matches. 

At A Glance: The Knights come into Thursday's contest with a 2-4 mark overall on the season. Last time out they took down Russell Sage in a 3-0 sweep at the New Paltz Invitational.  

Grace Riddle (Wantagh, N.Y.) paces the team with 77 kills on the campaign, while also recording the most digs, with 89. Riddle has added 16 aces for the Knights. 

Fran Cammarata (Carmel, N.Y.)  has dished out 143 assists thus far, while chipping in 35 digs and four blocks. 

Sabrina Romano (Glen Cove, N.Y.) leads the Knights with six blocks on the season. 

Scouting Yeshiva: The Maccabees come into Thursday's match at 0-6 on the season, falling 3-1 to Purchase on Tuesday.  

Gabrielle Kupferman leads the Maccabees in kills, averaging 1.11 per set. Kupferman leads the Maccabees in blocks also, having recorded eight thus far.  

Tali Miller paces Yeshiva with 23 assists, and Zoey Botnick is second, with 19 assists. Aleesa Elbaum, Ashley Botnick, and Shany Elmaleh are the Maccabees leaders in digs, recording 56, 52 and 48 digs, respectively.  

Recent History: The two teams have met 10 times since 2010. The Knights have swept all ten matches 3-0.  

Previewing Baruch: The Bearcats enter Saturday's contest with a record of 3-4 overall, having scored a win over St. Joseph's-L.I. 3-1 on Tuesday. 

Julia Perkowski leads the Bearcats with 62 kills through seven contests, averaging 2.58 per set. Sarah Chung is right behind her with 60 kills of her own. Chung also leads Baruch with 90 digs, averaging 3.75 per set. 

Amina Muminovic has handed out 160 assists, good for over six per set. Minami Ebihara paces the team with 12 aces, while Mariely Taveras leads Baruch with eight blocks on the campaign. 

Recent History: The two squads met for the first time in 2021, where Mount Saint Mary took down Baruch 3-0. 

A Look At Delaware Valley: The Aggies enter Saturday's showdown sitting at 3-2 overall on the season, having dropped a 3-2 contest with Lycoming on Tuesday.  

Olivia Deffendall paces the Aggies with 52 kills, good for nearly three per set. Victoria Tucker is the team leader in blocks with 11 total.  

Grace Wilson is good for three digs per set which is the team lead, while Emma Helverson leads Delaware Valley with 12 aces through five contests. 

Recent History: This meeting will mark the first time that these two programs have played one another.  

What's Next: The Knights will play two matches at home, one against the College of Mount Saint Vincent and one against John Jay, on September 24.
