Newburgh, N.Y. – The Mount Saint Mary College Women's Basketball team pushed its winning streak to four games and won its 12
th game in the last 13 outings on Monday, overwhelming Farmingdale State by a score of 81-34.
Morina Bojka (Prospect, Conn.) and
Katie Smith (Goshen, N.Y.) led all scorers with 14 points with Bojka and
Annie Keenan (Nesconset, N.Y.) recording double-doubles.
Monday's win pushes Mount Saint Mary to 16-3 overall on the season and to 14-1 against Skyline Conference opponents, while Farmingdale State drops back to the .500 mark at 9-9 overall and to 7-8 in league action.
First Half
- After falling behind 2-0 in the opening minute, Mount Saint Mary ripped off the next 12 points to open a 12-2 advantage on a Keenan layup at the 1:54 mark of the opening period.
- The Knights' lead dropped below double-figures briefly late in the first stanza, before a Charlotte Twohig (Syosset, N.Y.) jumper and a triple from Bojka sent the Mount to the second period with a 17-4 lead.
- Mount Saint Mary went on to outscore the Rams 21-9 in the second stanza to take a commanding 38-13 lead into the intermission.
- A pair of Smith free-throws early in the second period gave the Knights a 20-5 edge.
- The advantage grew to 26-7 on a Smith conversion in transition before a Bojka three-pointer at the 2:56 mark gave the Knights a 31-9 advantage.
- Cailean Nolan (Cortlandt Manor, N.Y.) hit a three-pointer to push the advantage to 36-13 before a Smith conversion at the second quarter horn gave the Knights a half-high 25-point advantage heading into the break.
- Mount Saint Mary shot 38.5-percent from the floor in the first 20 minutes and connected on three triples.
- Farmingdale State was held to 6-for-25 shooting, including 0-for-4 from three-point range.

- Mount Saint Mary came out of the break and spread its lead to 45-13 with a 7-0 spurt capped by a Lauren Desrats (Warwick, N.Y.) bucket in transition 2:35 into the third quarter.
- The lead grew to 57-20 on another Desrats transition bucket before the Mount took a 61-20 lead to the final stanza following a Gabriella Rafaniello (Brooklyn, N.Y.) free-throw with 18 seconds left in the quarter.
- Mount Saint Mary would not let its advantage fall below 38 points in the final period and pulled in front by a game-high 47 points when Julia Lavin (Ledyard, Conn.) hit a triple in the final minute to give the Knights the final 81-34 advantage.
- Mount Saint Mary improved to 45.9-percent shooting in the second half and connected on six three-point field goals.
- Farmingdale State was limited to 27.6-percent shooting and a 1-for-4 effort from three-point range.
