Knights Head To Johns Hopkins To Take On Blue Jays

MSMC making 15tth NCAA Tournament appearance

Newburgh, N.Y. – The Mount Saint Mary College Women's Basketball team learned it will travel to Johns Hopkins to take on the Blue Jays in the First Round of the 2022 NCAA Division III Tournament. #1 Christopher Newport and Mitchell round out the four-team site.
 
Mount Saint Mary will make its 15th NCAA Tournament appearance this weekend and will look for its seventh win in the national tournament when it takes on the Blue Jays.
 
The Knights won their 13th Skyline Conference Championship on Saturday in a 61-53 victory over the United States Merchant Marine Academy. The win was the Mount's 11th straight and 19th in the last 20 contests.
 
Mount Saint Mary is led by 2022 Skyline Conference Player of the Year in Morina Bojka (Prospect, Conn.) who leads the team in scoring with 18.3 points per game on 45.2-percent shooting. Bojka adds 8.1 points per game, 2.6 assists and just over two steals per game.
 
Second Team All-Skyline Conference selection Katie Smith (Goshen, N.Y.) chips in 12.4 points per game and a team-high 2.8 assists per contest, while 2022 Skyline Conference Co-Defensive Player of the Year Toriana Tabasco (Hillsdale, N.J.) checks in with 4.3 rebounds and 28 steals on the season.
 
Annie Keenan (Nesconset, N.Y.) leads the Mount on the glass with 9.4 rebounds per night and chips in with 7.7 points and 1.9 assists and 1.5 steals per night.
 
Mount Saint Mary scores just over 75 points per game while shooting 39.6-percent from the floor, 29.5-percent from three-point range and 63.8-percent from the free-throw line.
 
Johns Hopkins enters the National Tournament with a 22-4 overall record following a tight 43-40 loss to Gettysburg in the Centennial Conference Championship Final.
 
Diarra Oden leads the scoring attack with 16.0 points per game, adding nearly five rebounds per game. Oden is the lone player scoring in double-figures for Johns Hopkins.
 
Jadyn Murray is one of four players to average at least five rebounds per game, hauling in a team-high 6.1 with Emily Howie handing out a team-high 4.2 assists while chipping in 7.1 points per game.
 
Johns Hopkins score only 59.5 points per game but allows 46 points per contest to its opponents. The Blue Jays shoot 37.6-percent from the floor overall, 25.7-percent from three-point range and 69.5-percent from the free-throw line. The Blue Jays allow opponents to shoot just 30.1-percent overall and 22.8-percent from long distance.
 
Mount Saint Mary enters the Tournament at 23-3 with game time and ticket information to be announced when the information becomes available.
