Newburgh, N.Y. – The Mount Saint Mary College Men's Basketball team will play its final home game of 2022 Wednesday night when it welcomes non-conference foe Rutgers-Newark to the Kaplan Center. Tip-off with the Scarlet Raiders is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. with Live Stats and Video available for those unable to attend.
At A Glance: The Knights stopped a three-game losing streak on Saturday and picked up their first conference win of the season with a hard fought 65-59 road victory at Purchase. The win pushed the Mount to 3-7 overall on the season and to 1-2 in league action.
Four Knights are scoring in double-figures heading into Wednesday's contest, led by 12.7 points per game apiece from
Elijah Barnett (Poughkeepsie, N.Y.) and
Jayden Figueroa (New Windsor, N.Y.). Barnett is shooting just shy of 54-percent from the field on the season, while Figueroa is averaging a double-double with 10.3 caroms per night. Figueroa leads the conference in rebounding and blocked shots with 2.4 per outing.
Connor Cyran (Garfield, N.J.) is in the midst of a solid all-around season for the Mount, good for 11.0 points, 5.6 rebounds and 1.6 assists per contest. Cyran is shooting 45.1-percent from the floor and chips in just over one steal per night.
Chris Yearwood (Red Hook, N.Y.) contributes 10.0 points per game for the Mount through 10 tilts and is tied for the team lead in assists with just under two per outing. He is converting at just shy of 42-percent from the field for the Knights.
Mount Saint Mary is good for 68.4 points per game as a team and converts at 43.7-percent overall, 26.2-percent from three-point range and 58.9-percent from the free-throw line.

Ryan Graham (Campbell Hall, N.Y.) added 12 points with Cyran posting 11 tallies, four rebounds and three assists. Figueroa produced a double-double with 10 points and a game and season-high 18 rebounds.
Mount Saint Mary shot 39.2-percent from the floor it the game and knocked in five three-pointers. The Mount outscored Purchase 20-10 from the free-throw line in the game.
Scouting The Scarlet Raiders: Rutgers-Newark comes to town with a 2-7 overall record and a 1-3 mark in NJAC play. The Scarlet Raiders stopped a five-game slide on Saturday after it battled past league rival Rutgers-Camden on the road, 55-54.
Tony Godwin leads the scoring attack for Rutgers-Newark with 9.7 points per game with Levi Holton chipping in 9.2 points per night while shooting 46.6-percent from the floor.
Shy'Heed Jenkins-Floyd is in the midst of a solid rookie season, averaging just shy of seven points per game to go along with team-highs in assists with 2.3 per night and steals with 2.4 per outing.
The Scarlet Raiders score just 58.1 points per game on the season while shooting 40.9-percent from the floor, 29.3-percent from the three-point range and 58.4-percent from the free-throw line.
Recent History: The two side have not met since 2006 with the Knights earning a high-scoring 97-91 victory in Newburgh.
