Farmingdale, N.Y. – The Mount Saint Mary College Women's Tennis team traveled to Farmingdale State in its final regular season road match on Wednesday, falling to the Rams 9-0. The Knights return to action on Thursday for a conference home match against Purchase.
Mount Saint Mary entered singles play trailing 3-0. The third pair of
Victoria Veloz-Vicioso (Englewood, N.J.) and
Victoria Ward (Oceanside, N.Y.) battled hard in a tight 8-7 (7-1) defeat to their opponents from Farmingdale State.
In singles play,
Sadie McNair (Newburgh, N.Y.) suffered a hard fought 3-6, 4-6 loss at the second position with
Victoria Valencia (Floral Park, N.Y.) topped at the third slot 3-6, 1-6.
Wednesday's loss drops Mount Saint Mary to 3-7 overall and to 1-3 in Skyline Conference play. Thursday's contest with the Panthers is scheduled for 6:00 p.m.
