At A Glance: After having an eight-game winning streak stopped at the College of Mount Saint Vincent last Saturday, the Knights got back into the win column with an 82-74 road win at Farmingdale State Wednesday night. The victory pushed the Knights to 13-3 overall on the season and to 11-1 against Skyline Conference opponents.
Morina Bojka (Prospect, Conn.), who enters Sunday's contest just 12 points shy of 1,000 in her career, leads the scoring attack for the Mount with 16.8 points per game. Bojka scored 31 points, her second 30-point performance of the season, in Wednesday's win and is shooting 44.4-percent from the floor overall. Bojka hauls in better than seven rebounds and is good for 2.6 assists and 2.3 steals per game for the Knights.
Katie Smith (Goshen, N.Y.) scored a career-high 23 points against the Rams on Wednesday and contributes 12.4 points per game on the season while shooting 49.1-percent from the floor overall and 41.3-percent from three-point range. Smith leads the team with 3.3 assists and adds 2.4 rebounds per game for the Mount.
Lauren Desrats (Warwick, N.Y.) is good for 9.0 points and nearly two steals per game, while
Erin Smith (Goshen, N.Y.) chips in just over eight points per night and has knocked down a team-high 29 three-point field goals.
Annie Keenan (Nesconset, N.Y.) paces the Mount on the glass with 9.0 rebounds per game and contributes 7.5 points, 1.8 assists and 1.8 steals per tilt.
Scouting St. Joseph's-L.I. The Golden Eagles have dropped two of their last three outings and begin play on Sunday at 10-5 overall and 7-5 in conference play. St. Joseph's fell at home to USMMA on Wednesday by a score of 71-48.
Alyssa Adomaites leads the team and the Skyline Conference in scoring at 25.4 points per outing on 45.1-percent shooting. Adomaites makes better than two three-pointers per tilt and is good for 2.5 assists and 2.1 steals per contest.
Alyssa Signor averages a double-double with 15.8 points and 10.1 caroms per contest with Lanyah Ford chipping in 11.2 points and better than six rebounds per contest. Julianna Knice leads the team with just under four assists per game and chips in 6.2 points per outing.
St. Joseph's scores nearly 78 points per game on 39.6-percent shooting overall, 30.3-percent shooting from three-point range and a 64-percent conversion rate from the free-throw line.
Previous Meeting: Mount Saint Mary looks to sweep the season series from the Golden Eagles after an 88-61 home win on December 9. Desrats led four Knights in double-figures with 18 points with K. Smith adding 17 points and five assists. The Knights shot 45.1-percent from the floor in the victory and connected on 14 three-point field goals.
Recent History: The December victory gave the Knights 10 wins in the last 11 meetings with the Golden Eagles and pushed them to 25-3 in the series since the start of the 2007-08 season.
What's Next: The Knights return home on February 1 for a Skyline Conference tilt with Yeshiva.
