Women’s Basketball Travels To Farmingdale State Wednesday Night

Knights look to get back into win column against Rams

Newburgh, N.Y. – After having its eight-game winning streak stopped on Saturday, the Mount Saint Mary College Women's Basketball team looks to return to the win column on Wednesday night when it heads to Farmingdale State. Live Stats and Video will be available for the 7:00 p.m. tip-off.
 
Spectator Policy: Per Skyline Conference policy, NO FANS will be permitted at Wednesday's game.
 
At A Glance: Mount Saint Mary sits atop the Skyline Conference standings heading into Wednesday's contest with a 12-3 overall record and a 10-1 mark in league action. The Knights suffered a 64-41 loss at Mount Saint Vincent on Saturday, the Mount's first defeat since falling at Oneonta on November 27.
 
Morina Bojka (Prospect, Conn.) enters Wednesday's tilt just 43 points shy of 1,000 in her career and leads the Knights in scoring with 15.9 points per game while adding 7.4 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 2.4 steals per outing. Bojka converts at 43.5-percent from the floor and has registered three double-doubles on the season.
 
Katie Smith (Goshen, N.Y.) is good for nearly 12 points per game on 47.9-percent shooting overall and a 40-percent mark from three-point range. She adds better than two rebounds and one steal per game and leads the Knights with just over three assists per outing.
 
Lauren Desrats (Warwick, N.Y.) chips in 9.1 points per game with Erin Smith (Goshen, N.Y.) checking in with 8.5 points per tilt. Desrats hauls in better than three rebounds per contest while Smith has knocked down a team-high 27 three-point field goals.
 
Annie Keenan (Nesconset, N.Y.) leads the way on the glass with 9.0 caroms per game and contributes better than seven points and nearly two assists and two steals per game for the Knights.
 
Mount Saint Mary enters Wednesday's game scoring better than 74 points per game on 38.6-percent shooting overall, a 31.0-percent mark from three-point range and 62.3-percent shooting from the free-throw line.
 
Scouting The Rams: Farmingdale State had a four-game winning streak stopped on Saturday with a 64-54 loss to USMMA and enters tonight's contest at 8-6 overall and 6-5 in conference play.
 
The Rams feature a pair of players good for at least 20 points per game, led by 20.5 points from Layla Mendonza who shoots 55.5-percent from the field. Mendoza also adds 6.6 rebounds and nearly two steals per game.
 
Samantha Muller adds an even 20 points per game and is connecting on 51.4-percent of her three-point chances. Muller is in the midst of a strong all-around season, posting better than eight rebounds per game to go along with 4.1 assists and 2.5 steals per outing.
 
Kalena Ricketts and Anna Zaborowska support the offense with 11.8 and 10.6 points per night, with Ricketts leading the team with 9.1 caroms. Zaborowska contributes a team-high 5.2 assists per game and adds better than two steals per contest.
 
Farmingdale State puts up just shy of 68 points per game and is shooting 41.9-percent overall, 29.1-percent from three-point range and 51.8-percent from the free-throw line.
 
Recent History: The long time Skyline Conference rivals have meet 34 times since the start of the 2007-08 season with the Mount holding a 22-12 record. The Knights have won the last five meetings in the series, sweeping the regular season meetings in both 2018-19 and 2019-20.
 
What's Next: Mount Saint Mary is scheduled to travel to St. Joseph's-L.I. on Saturday for a 1:00 p.m. tip-off with the Golden Eagles.
