Knights Travel To Sarah Lawrence Monday Evening

Knights look to get back into win column against Gryphons

Newburgh, N.Y. – The Mount Saint Mary College Men's Basketball team look stop a two-game skid Monday evening when it travels to Sarah Lawrence to take on the Gryphons at 6:00 p.m. Live Stats and Video will be available.
 
Spectator Policy: Per Skyline Conference policy, NO FANS will be permitted at Monday's game.
 
At A Glance: After winning five of six and pulling to within a game of the .500 mark overall, the Knights have dropped their last two contests and enter Monday's affair at 5-8 overall and 3-2 against league rivals. The Knights were topped at home by the College of Mount Saint Vincent, 57-54, on Tuesday and suffered a 76-57 road loss at St. Joseph's-L.I. Saturday afternoon.
 
Chris Yearwood (Red Hook, N.Y.) is the Mount's top scorer through 13 games, good for 14.4 points per tilt. Yearwood is shooting 43.3-percent overall on the season and 41.4 from three-point range, adding 3.3 rebounds and 2.5 assists per game for the Knights.
 
Connor Cyran (Garfield, N.J.), coming off a 14-point performance on Saturday, checks in with 9.5 points and 4.8 rebounds per game, shooting 46.1-percent from the floor. Ryan Graham (Campbell Hall, N.Y.) is good for 8.3 points per game and adds 2.0 assists and 1.2 steals per outing.
 
Jayden Figueroa (New Windsor, N.Y.) paces the Mount on the glass with 10.1 rebounds per night and supports the offense with 9.2 points per outing. Paul Sienke (Washington, D.C.) shoots 52.1-percent from the floor and is averaging 8.6 points and 3.4 rebounds per game for the Mount.
 
Entering Monday's tilt with the Gryphons, Mount Saint Mary is averaging 64.2 points per game while shooting 40.8-percent overall, 32-percent from three-point range and 70-percent from the free-throw line.
Scouting The Gryphons: Sarah Lawrence begins the new week with a 4-8 overall record and a 2-3 mark against league opponents. The Gryphons stopped a three-game slide on Saturday with an 86-65 victory over St. Joseph's-Brooklyn.
 
Liam Barry paces the scoring attack for Sarah Lawrence with 15.4 points per game on 44.1-percent shooting from the field. Barry adds nearly eight rebounds per night for the Gryphons and hands out better than three assists per contest.
 
Justin Bailey averages a double-double through 12 tilts, scoring 13.1 points per game and hauling in just over 10 caroms per night. Bailey adds 1.6 assists and just over one steal per game for Sarah Lawrence.
 
Xiyuan Zhang has knocked down a team-high 27 three-pointers for the Gryphons and checks in with just over nine points per outing. Lucas Murray supports the offense with just shy of nine points per game while shooting better than 46-percent from the floor and adds 7.2 rebounds per contest.
 
Sarah Lawrence scores just under 69 points per game through 12 outings on 38.7-percent shooting overall, 31.6-percent shooting from behind the arc and 64.1-percent shooting from the free-throw line.
 
Recent History: The two sides have met 12 times since the start of the 2014-15 season with the Knights holding a 9-3 record. Mount Saint Mary has dropped two of the last three to the Gryphons, but snapped a two-game slide with an 82-72 overtime win in Newburgh on February 18, 2020.
 
What's Next: Nationally ranked Yeshiva pays a visit to the Kaplan Center on Wednesday with tip-off scheduled for 8:00 p.m.
