Knights look to rebound off of first conference loss

Newburgh, N.Y. – The Mount Saint Mary College Men's Basketball team takes to the road on Saturday when it heads to Skyline Conference rival St. Joseph's-L.I. Tip-off with the Golden Eagles is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. with Live Stats and Video available.
 
Spectator Policy: Per Skyline Conference policy, NO FANS will be permitted at Saturday's game.
 
At A Glance: Mount Saint Mary hits the road on Saturday sporting a 5-7 overall record and a 3-1 mark in Skyline Conference play. The Knights suffered their first league loss of the season on Tuesday night following a tight 57-54 loss to the College of Mount Saint Vincent.
 
Chris Yearwood (Red Hook, N.Y.) is the lone Knight to average in double-figures through 12 contests, putting up 15.1 points per game on 44-percent shooting overall and a 43.1-percent mark from three-point range. Yearwood contributes 3.3 rebounds and a team-high 2.5 assists per game for the Mount.
 
Jayden Figueroa (New Windsor, N.Y.) averages nearly a double-double for the Knights, scoring 9.3 points per game and hauling in a team-high 10.3 caroms per contest. Figueroa is shooting 49.4-percent from the floor overall and blocks a team-high 1.4 shots per outing.
 
Connor Cyran (Garfield, N.J.) and Paul Sienke (Washington, D.C.) support the offensive attack with 9.2 and 9.1 points per game with Ryan Graham (Campbell Hall, N.Y.) chipping in just over eight points per evening. Jack Lotito (Staten Island, N.Y.) hands out just over two assists per night and has recorded a career-high seven assists in a game twice this season.
 
Mount Saint Mary enters Saturday's contest scoring 64.8 points per game while shooting 40.4-percent overall, 31.8-percent from three-point range and 70.3-percent from the free-throw line.
 
Scouting St. Joseph's-L.I.: The Golden Eagles enter Saturday's showdown with a 7-7 overall record and a 3-3 mark in Skyline Conference play. St. Joseph's has won two of its last three outings, including a 78-64 win over Sarah Lawrence on Wednesday.
 
Spencer Malloy leads the scoring attack for the Golden Eagles, pouring in 15.6 points per game on 52.4-percent shooting. Malloy also sits atop the team leaderboard with 8.5 rebounds per game and hands out 2.2 assists per outing.
 
Alec Tabada scores 13.6 points per game for St. Joseph's while shooting just under 52-percent from the field. Tabada collects just shy of seven rebounds per outing, adding 2.4 assists, 2.1 steals and just over one blocked shot per game.
 
Timothy Hirdt checks in with just under 12 points per game for St. Joseph's to go along with 7.5 rebounds per game, while Jake Gaudiello hands out a team-high 4.0 assists per game and chips in 9.7 points per outing.
 
As a unit, St. Joseph's shoots 44.2-percent overall, 32.2-percent from three-point range and 67.2-percent from the free-throw line on the way to scoring 74.3 points per game.
 
Recent History: Since the start of the 2006-07 season, the two longtime Skyline Conference rivals have met 27 times with the Mount holding a slim 14-13 advantage in the series. The Knights have won the last eight meetings with the Golden Eagles, including a 71-59 win in Patchogue on February 1, 2020.
 
What's Next: The Knights stay on the road for a Monday evening tilt at Sarah Lawrence.
