Knights Open 2022 At Maritime

Knights in action for first time since December 11

Newburgh, N.Y. – The Mount Saint Mary College Men's Basketball team returns to Skyline Conference play and opens the 2022 portion of the schedule on Wednesday night when it travels to Maritime. Live Stats and Video will be available for the 7:00 p.m. tip-off in Throggs Neck.
 
Spectator Policy: Per Skyline Conference policy, NO FANS will be permitted.
 
At A Glance: The Knights will take to the floor for the first time since December 11 on Wednesday and enter the contest at 3-6 overall on the season and 1-0 in Skyline Conference play.
 
Chris Yearwood (Red Hook, N.Y.) is the Mount's top scorer through nine games, good for 14.6 points per tilt. Yearwood is shooting 46.6-percent overall on the season and 45-percent from three-point range, adding 2.6 rebounds and 2.4 assists per game for the Knights.
 
Connor Cyran (Garfield, N.J.) checks in with 11.1 points and 5.3 rebounds per game, shooting an even 50-percent from the floor. Ryan Graham (Campbell Hall, N.Y.) is good for 9.3 points per game and adds 2.0 assists and 1.4 steals per outing.
 
Jayden Figueroa (New Windsor, N.Y.) paces the Mount on the glass with 9.4 rebounds per night and supports the offense with 8.1 points per outing.
 
Entering Wednesday's tilt with the Privateers, Mount Saint Mary is averaging 66.1 points per game while shooting 41.7-percent overall, 30.6-percent from three-point range and 71.0-percent from the free-throw line.
 
Previewing The Privateers: Maritime begins play on Wednesday with a 3-7 overall record and an 0-4 mark in Skyline Conference play. The Privateers have dropped their last two outings, including an 83-75 defeat at the hands of Purchase on Monday.
 
Ryan Donovan leads the scoring attack with 15.5 points per game, adding 6.1 rebounds and 3.0 assists per night for Maritime. Jaylin Gray is scoring 14.9 points per game for the Privateers and leads the team with 5.4 assists per outing. Gray also checks in with 4.5 rebounds and 2.4 steals per contest.
 
Mike Regan rounds out a trio of Privateers scoring in double-figures with 11.0 points per game. Nick Ovanessian hauls in a team-high 6.6 rebounds per night and chips in 5.1 points per game with Griffin McNally contributing 5.9 points and 5.9 rebounds per contest.
 
Through 10 games, Maritime is scoring 68.6 points per game while shooting 39.4-percent overall, 28.4-percent from three-point range and 63.2-percent from the free-throw line.
 
Recent History: Mount Saint Mary and Maritime have met 28 times since the start of the 2006-07 season with the Knights holding a 17-11 record. The Mount had a five-game winning streak in the series stopped in the two sides' last meeting, a tight 73-71 home decision for the Privateers on February 11, 2020.
