Knights Begin Busy Week With Home Game Against Purchase

Knights open three-game week against Purchase

Newburgh, N.Y. – The Mount Saint Mary College Women's Basketball team is scheduled to take on three Skyline Conference opponents this week starting with a home game against Purchase on Monday. Live Stats and Video will be available for the 6:00 p.m. tip-off at the Kaplan Center.

At A Glance: The Knights were last in action in a 90-43 road win at Sarah Lawrence on January 4 and enter Monday's tilt winners of four straight and with an 8-2 overall record and a perfect 6-0 mark in Skyline Conference play.
 
Three Knights enter the week scoring in double-figures, led by 15.5 points from Morina Bojka (Prospect, Conn.) who is shooting just shy of 42-percent from the field. Bojka is second on the team with 6.9 rebounds per game and chips in 2.1 assists and a team-high 2.7 steals per game for the Knights.
 
Katie Smith (Goshen, N.Y.) supports the offense with 11.3 points per game and leads the Mount with 3.5 assists per outing. Smith is shooting better than 46-percent from the floor and 42.4-percent from three-point range.
 
Lauren Desrats (Warwick, N.Y.) checks in with 10.2 points per game and adds 2.2 assists and just over two steals per night. Annie Keenan (Nesconset, N.Y.) averages nearly a double-double, hauling in a team-high 10.3 rebounds to go along with 8.8 points per evening, while Erin Smith (Goshen, N.Y.) has knocked in a team-high 18 three-pointers and is good for 8.0 points per game.
 
Mount Saint Mary is scoring nearly 74 points per game and is forcing 24.3 miscues per game and translating those into better than 21 points per game. The Knights are shooting 37.6-percent overall on the season, 30.3-percent from three-point range and 65.2-percent from the free-throw line.
 
Previewing Purchase: The Panthers will be in action on Monday for the first time since December 11 and enter the contest winless in eight outings, including an 0-5 mark against league rivals.
 
Ariella Johnson leads the scoring attack with 13.7 points per game and adds 6.8 rebounds, 1.7 assists and 1.5 steals per night. Shadai Plowden is scoring 11.5 points per game and hauls in 6.5 rebounds per game to go along with 2.8 steals and 2.2 assists. Shamoni Berrios pulls down a team-high 7.3 rebounds per game for the Panthers and supports the offense with 10.3 points per game.
 
Purchase scores 54.1 points per game through eight tilts and is shooting 31.9-percent overall, 22.0-percent from three-point range and 61.1-percent from the free-throw line.
 
Previous Meeting: The Knights and Panthers met on November 16 with the Mount coming away with a 79-64 road win. Bojka led three players in double-figures with 19 points and Mount Saint Mary forced 28 turnovers in the game and finished with a 32-11 advantage in paint points and a 32-18 edge in fast break tallies.
 
Recent History: Including the earlier matchup this season, the Knights have won the last 11 meetings with the Panthers dating back to the start of the 2015-16 season.
