Newburgh, N.Y. – Connor Doyle (New Windsor, N.Y.) produced his second hat trick in a three game stretch, 
Peter Ramirez (New Windsor, N.Y.) scored a goal and added an assist and 
Matt Wyant (Beacon, N.Y.) assisted on a pair of goals and tallied the game winner as the Mount Saint Mary College Men's Soccer team scored an impressive 5-0 win against Maritime Tuesday night.
 
Tuesday's victory pushes Mount Saint Mary to 3-5 overall on the season and to 2-1 in conference play, while Maritime falls to 3-4 overall and 0-3 in league play.
 
First Half  
	- Mount Saint Mary outshot Maritime 11-6 in the opening stanza and opened the game up with three goals in just under six minutes.
- Wyant potted his third goal of the year, the eventual game winner, at 14:46 when he dribbled across the top of the box and scored the far corner for the early 1-0 lead.
- Ramirez followed with a pretty goal which was finished off a long pass from Ismael Bravo (Middletown, N.Y.) at 17:01.
- Doyle picked up his first of the game when he banged home Wyant's first assist of the night in the 23rd minute and stretched the Mount's lead to 4-0 at 39:17 when he floated a pass from Wyant over the keeper to finish off the scoring before halftime.
- Zach Decker and Timothy Nichols each made three saves prior to the break.
- Maritime finished the half with a 4-1 advantage in corner kicks.
 
Second Half 
	- Mount Saint Mary finished with a slim 7-6 advantage in shots after halftime.
- The only goal of the half came off the foot of Doyle at 64:14, his seventh goal in the last three games. He tipped in a crossing pass from Ramirez to secure the hat trick.
- Decker added a single save in the second half.
- Mount Saint Mary took four of the seven corners after halftime.
 
For The Knights 
	- After not scoring in the first five games of the season, Doyle now has a team-high seven goals and 14 points.
- Wyant sits second on the team with 12 points after scoring his third of the season and moving his team lead in assists to six.
- Ramirez scored his second goal of the year and assisted on Doyle's third marker.
- Bravo found the scoresheet for the first time with his initial assist of 2021.
- Decker earned his second shutout of the season with four saves.
 
For The Privateers
	- Frank Schmidt led the team with three shots.
- Nichols rounded out the night with seven saves.
 
Match Statistics 
	- Mount Saint Mary outshot Maritime 18-12 overall and 12-4 in shots on goal.
- Maritime finished with a slight 7-5 edge in corner kicks.
- Fouls went against the Knights 16-8.
