Grace Riddle (Wantagh, N.Y.) has been named the ECAC Metro Division Player of the Month for October it was announced on Friday. The honor is the fourth of the season for Riddle, who has been named the Skyline Conference Player of the Week on three occasions.
Over 13 matches in the month of October, Riddle put Away 198 kills and hit .243 for the Knights. Riddle averaged 4.21 kills per set over the month and added 37 service aces (0.79 per set), 139 digs (2.96 per set) and 10 total blocks (0.21 per set).
Riddle recorded double-figures in kills in all but two matches on the month, including a high of 24 in a sweep of St. Joseph's-Brooklyn on October 14. Riddle hit an efficient .400 in the match against the Bears and posted the program's new standard for kills in the three-set match, topping the previous mark of 21 set in 2007.
Riddle closed the month with eight double-doubles for the Mount, including six straight to start the month, highlighted by a 16-kill, 20-digs performance in a four-set victory at Sarah Lawrence on October 12.
After a strong October, Riddle put away 19 kills in the lone match for the Mount in November, a five-set loss to the College of Mount Saint Vincent in the First Round of the Skyline Conference Championship on November 2. With her kill total against the Dolphins, Riddle surpassed the previous single season record for kills by one and ended the season with 451 winners, topping the previous mark of 450 set in 2007.
Mount Saint Mary closed the 2021 season with a 14-15 overall record and a 7-4 mark in Skyline Conference play.
