Liz Halpin (LaGrangeville, N.Y.) scored two goals and won seven draw controls and classmate
Courtney Condron (Franklin Square, N.Y.) totaled three points in a 14-7 road non-conference loss at Bard Saturday afternoon.
After trading the first two tallies of the contest, Bard opened a 4-1 lead with a 3-0 run capped by Caleigh DeCaprio's third goal of the game with just under 15 minutes left before halftime.
Anne Dolan (Poughkeepsie, N.Y.) got the Mount on the board with her first of the season with 24:55 left before halftime.
Megan Shalvey (Blauvelt, N.Y.) stopped the Bard run with her third goal of the season with just shy of 11 minutes left before halftime and Halpin scored her first of the day with just under seven minutes left before the break to get the Knights to within 5-3 at the intermission.
Marilena Mangiaracina (Franklin Square, N.Y.) assisted on the Halpin tally for her first career point.
Bard finished the opening stanza with a 15-13 advantage in overall shots and a 13-8 edge in shots on goal. The Raptors picked up 11 first half groundballs, one more than the Knights, while the Mount doubled up Bard in draw controls before the break 6-3.
Coming out of the break, Bard ripped off three straight goals over the first 5:54 of the second half to build its lead to 8-3. Halpin stopped the second half run with her second of the game and markers from Condron and
Alyssa DiMare (Staten Island, N.Y.) brought the Knights to within 9-6 with just under 22 minutes left to play.
The Raptors again answered with five straight goals over a nearly 19 minute stretch to spread its lead to a game-high eight goals with 2:20 left to play. Condron stopped the run and potted her second of the game with 1:14 left to bring the Mount to within the final seven-goal deficit.
With two goals apiece, Halpin and Condron sit atop the team leaderboard in goals with five on the season. With three points Condron pushes her team lead in points to seven and her team standard in assists to two. Halpin rounded out the game leading all players with seven draw controls, adding three groundballs.
In addition to her first goal of the season, Dolan picked up a team-high four groundballs and caused a turnover.
Nicole Cervone (Shirley, N.Y.) picked up an assist for the Mount and led the team with a pair of caused turnovers.
DeCaprio led the Raptors attack with seven goals and eight points with Rachael Yoder posting four goals and a pair of assists. Gillian Adkins led all players in the game with seven groundballs, while Yoder posted five draw controls to lead Bard.
Jackie Finkel (Warwick, N.Y.) posted double-figure saves for the second straight contest, rounding out Saturday's contest with 13 stops to go along with two groundballs. Bard used a pair of goalies with Izabel Kickner earning the win with five stops in 30 minutes of work.
Bard finished the day with a 31-21 advantage in shots, including a 27-14 edge in shots on goal. Groundballs went to the Raptors 28-18 with the Mount finishing with a 12-11 edge in draw controls. Mount Saint Mary closed the afternoon 9-for-12 in clearing chances with Bard going 12-for-17.
At 0-3 overall on the season, Mount Saint Mary continues a three-game road swing on Tuesday when it travels to Sage. Opening Draw with the Gators is set for 6:30 p.m.
