Women's Basketball Returns To Skyline Play Against Farmingdale State

Knights enter Saturday's action at 5-0 in Skyline play

Newburgh, N.Y. - The Mount Saint Mary College Women's Basketball team returns back to Skyline Conference action on Saturday afternoon when the Knights play host to Farmingdale State. Tip-off with the Rams at the Kaplan Center is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. with Live Stats and Video available for those unable to attend.
 
At A Glance: The Knights returned to the win column on Thursday evening in a three-point victory over non-conference foe Sage to move to 7-3 overall. Mount Saint Mary restarts Skyline Conference play at 5-0.
 
Junior Morina Bojka (Prospect, Conn.) has continued her strong season as she leads the Mount, averaging 17.4  points per game to go along with 5.1 rebounds per contest. Sophomore Annie Keenan (Nesconset, N.Y.) is just short of a double-double average, scoring 11.7 points per outing and grabbing 9.1 rebounds per contest. Keenan leads the team in blocks with 10.
 
Sophomore Lauren Desrats (Warwick, N.Y.) adds just over 11 points per game and senior Lyndsay Pace (Cranford, N.J.) chips in 11 points per game while pacing the squad in assists with 35 and steals with 25. Sophomore Toriana Tabasco (Hillsdale, N.J.) leads the team in offensive rebounds with 30 on the season while adding 7.1 points per game and 23 assists.
 
The Mount is averaging 69.9 points per game this season on 39.8-percent shooting from the field and 28.7-percent from the three-point line. The Knights are limiting teams to 56 points per game on 34.6-percent from the field and 27.3-percent from three.
 
Last Time Out: The Mount Saint Mary College Women's Basketball team snapped its two game losing skid on Thursday evening as the Knights won a back and forth battle with Sage 68-65 at the Kaplan Center. Desrats led a balanced scoring attack with 16 points for Mount Saint Mary.

Desrats completed the evening with 16 points on 5-for-10 shooting and three triples while Pace added 13 points and three assists. Bojka chipped in 12 points on 5-for-8 shooting while Tabasco added nine points and a team-high six rebounds. Pasinella finished with 18 points for the Gators and Bowman chipped in 12 points, 12 rebounds and six assists, good for a double-double.

Mount Saint Mary ended the game being outshot by Sage 38.3-percent to 30.9-percent but the Knights made two more threes and five more free throws in the contest. The Mount outscored Sage 27-2 in points off turnovers while points in the paint were even at 28. The Gators dominated the glass, outrebounding the Knights 59-30.
 
Scouting Farmingdale State: The Rams enter Saturday's contest at 4-5 overall and 2-3 in the Skyline Conference. Farmingdale State's last game was on December 12 when they defeated Yeshiva 92-82.

The Rams are led by a trio of double digit scorers, including leading scorer Nia Miller who averages 14.1 points per outing and 3.7 assists per game. Anna Zaborowska adds 13.4 points per contest as well as three assists per game and 6.6 rebounds. Alexis Hunter chips in 12.2 points per game and is the leading rebounder with 8.4 per game.

Farmingdale State is averaging 62.9 points per game on 34.9-percent from the field and 31.9-percent from the three-point line. Defensively, they have allowed 70.1 points per outing on 40.1-percent from the field and 32.9-percent from behind the three-point stripe.
 
Recent History: Mount Saint Mary is 20-12 dating back to 2008 against its Skyline rival and has won seven of the last nine meetings against the Rams. The Knights enter the contest winners of three straight with the last loss coming in the 2017-18 season in Newburgh.
 
What's Next: Mount Saint Mary completes its three game homestand when the Knights host Skyline rival Old Westbury on Wednesday evening. Tip-off at the Kaplan Center is scheduled for 6:00 p.m.
