Women's Basketball Travels to Mount Saint Vincent, Hosts St. Joseph's-L.I.

Knights enter the week unbeaten in Skyline play

Newburgh, N.Y. - The Mount Saint Mary College Women's Basketball team continues its Skyline Conference schedule as the Knights travel to the College of Mount Saint Vincent on Tuesday evening before playing host to St. Joseph's-L.I. on Thursday. Tip-off with the Dolphins in Riverdale is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. while the contest with the Golden Eagles is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. at the Kaplan Center. Live Stats and Video will be available for both contests if you are unable to attend.
 
At A Glance: The Knights enter the week winners of its last four contests after defeating Old Westbury on Wednesday and St. Joseph's-Brooklyn on Saturday. The Mount sits at 10-3 overall and 8-0 in Skyline Conference play.
 
Junior Morina Bojka (Prospect, Conn.) leads four double digit scorers for the Knights as she is averaging 17.5 points per game to go along with 5.7 rebounds per contest. Sophomore Annie Keenan (Nesconset, N.Y.) is scoring 11.9 points per outing and grabbing 9.3 rebounds per contest. Keenan leads the team in blocks with 13.
 
Sophomore Lauren Desrats (Warwick, N.Y.) and senior Lyndsay Pace (Cranford, N.J.) are each adding just over 11 points per game while Pace leads the squad in assists with 42 and steals with 32. Sophomore Toriana Tabasco (Hillsdale, N.J.) leads the team in offensive rebounds with 36 on the season while adding seven points per game and 31 assists.
 
The Mount is averaging 68.8 points per game this season on 38.6-percent shooting from the field and 28.4-percent from the three-point line. The Knights are limiting teams to 53.6 points per game on 33.8-percent from the field and 26.7-percent from three.
 
Last Time Out: The Mount pushed its winning streak to four on Saturday as the Knights defeated Skyline foe St. Joseph's-Brooklyn 63-53 on the road at the Hill Center. Bojka and Pace both registered double-digit points for the Mount in the victory.
 
The Knights shot 34.9-percent over the first 20 minutes and hit just two three-pointers while the Bears shot 32.2-percent from the field and knocked down three three-pointers in the half. Bojka led the way with 10 points in the first half while Pace added nine and Keenan chipped in seven points.
 
Bojka and Pace combined for 19 of the 25 points scored by the Mount in the second half as the Knights shot just 26.6-percent in the second half.
 
Bojka finished the day with 21 points on 9-for-23 from the field along with eight rebounds and a team-high six assists. Pace finished with 17 points on 6-for-15 from the field and also added eight rebounds and four steals. Keenan added seven points, 10 rebounds, three steals and two blocks for the Knights.
 
Mount Saint Mary finished the game shooting 30.7-percent from the field while the Bears were 34.5-percent on the day. The Knights converted 17 points off turnovers and 18 second chance points. The Mount also outscored the Bears 30-18 in the paint.
 
Scouting Mount Saint Vincent: The Dolphins enter Tuesday's matchup with a 7-4 overall record and 5-2 in Skyline Conference play. Mount Saint Vincent defeated Purchase 63-47 in its most recent contest on January 8.
 
The Dolphins are led by the conference's leading scorer in Darneisha Brice, who is averaging 22.5 points per game. She also leads the team in assists with 30, steals with 25 and blocks with four. Aria Rheams is adding 12.3 points per contest and is the leading rebounder with 9.3 per game.
 
New addition Victoria Hanley has chipped in 14 points per contest in her two games played as well as five rebounds per game and five assists. Gabriella Goldman is second on the team behind Brice in three-pointers made with 18.
 
Mount Saint Vincent is averaging 63.1 points per game on 34.7-percent from the field and 27.4-percent from the three-point line. On defense, the Dolphins are allowing 60.5 points per contest on 35.3-percent shooting and 33.3-percent from three-point range.
 
Analyzing St. Joseph's-L.I.: The Golden Eagles begin the week at 2-10 overall and 0-7 in Skyline Conference play. St. Joseph's-L.I. will take on Sarah Lawrence on Tuesday before traveling to Newburgh on Thursday evening.
 
The Golden Eagles are led by transfer Alyssa Adomaites, who is averaging 19 points per game in four games of action this season. She has also added 13 assists and 10 steals in her short campaign. Alyssa Signor is second on the squad in points per game with 15 and adds 5.4 rebounds per contest.
 
Megan Steinman has chipped in 14 points per outing while Catherine Siounis is leading the team in rebounds with 8.5 per game. Julianna Knice is the leader in assists with 46 with Signor leading in steals with 19.
 
St. Joseph's-L.I. is averaging 64.8 points per game on 35.6-percent from the field and 30.3-percent from the three-point line this season. The Golden Eagles have allowed 71 points per contest on 37.3-percent from the field and 27.3-percent from the three-point stripe.
 
What's Next: The Knights hit the road for a Skyline matchup with Farmingdale State on January 21. Tip-off with the Rams is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
