Men's Soccer Set To Square Off Against St. Joseph's-Brooklyn

Knights enter contest at 1-0-1 in Skyline play

Newburgh, N.Y. - The Mount Saint Mary College Men's Soccer team returns home on Saturday afternoon as the Knights play host to St. Joseph's-Brooklyn. Kick-off with the Bears is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. at Kaplan Field.
 
At A Glance: The Knights scored two second-half goals to draw Manhattanville 2-2 on Wednesday night after defeating Rutgers-Newark 2-1 on Monday. The Mount sits at 4-4-1 overall and 1-0-1 in conference play.
 
Joey Dolan (Highland, N.Y.), Matt Wyant (Beacon, N.Y.) and Connor Doyle (New Windsor, N.Y.) are tied for the team lead in goals with three apiece as Joseph Bacalhau (Woodbridge, N.J.) and Peter Ramirez (New Windsor, N.Y.) are tied for the team high in assists with two and have each added a goal.
 
Tyler Rapp (East Berne, N.Y.) has started eight of the nine games in goal for the Mount this season. He has posted a 1.71 goals against average and has made 37 saves and recorded one shutout.
 
Last Time Out: The Mount fought back late in the second half to earn a 2-2 draw with Skyline foe Manhattanville on Tuesday night. Doyle scored both second-half goals to secure a point for the Knights.
 
The Valiants put the first tally on the board early in the first half as Fabori Conde scored his third goal of the season off assists from Gabe Jefferies and Pablo Bravo Olle in the 7th minute. Manhattanville added its second goal of the contest at the 66:26 mark as Marius Nicolaysen scored his second goal of the year from the penalty spot
 
The Mount countered with its first goal of the game just 50 seconds later when Ramirez played a ball into the box and it was buried by Doyle to cut the Manhattanville lead to one.
 
Mount Saint Mary drew the game even in the 73rd minute when Doyle knocked one past the keeper after a rebound off the crossbar found his foot. Neither team could score in the final 17 minutes as both teams were down to 10 men after the 81:31 mark.
 
Scouting St. Joseph's-Brooklyn: The Bears enter Saturday's contest at 2-6-1 overall and 0-1 in Skyline play after drawing Saint Elizabeth 2-2 on Wednesday.
 
Joseph Sepulveda leads the team in goals with six and points with 13 as Thomas Mastoras has three goals and three assists for the Bears. Joao Gavilanes is tied for the team lead in assists with three.
 
Alejandro Oliveros has started all nine games in goal for St. Joseph's-Brooklyn, posting a 3.56 goals against average and has made 56 saves on the season.
 
Recent History: Dating back to 2015, the Knights are 4-0 against St. Joseph's-Brooklyn as the Mount has outscored the Bears 16-1 in the four contests.
 
What's Next: The Knights hit the road for a Skyline matchup with Old Westbury on Wednesday. Kick-off with the Panthers is scheduled for 3:30 p.m.
