Women’s Soccer Hosts Hartwick Wednesday Night

Knights look to stop four match skid

Newburgh, N.Y. – The Mount Saint Mary College Women's Soccer team returns to Kaplan Field Wednesday night to host non-conference foe Hartwick. Kick-off with the Hawks is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. with Live Stats and Video available for those who cannot attend.
 
At A Glance: The Knights look to stop a four match losing streak on Wednesday and enter the tilt at 1-6 overall in 2019. The Mount has not scored since the 84th minute against Ithaca on September 7 and look for their first win since topping Yeshiva on September 6.
 
Senior Chrissy Cannella (Cornwall, N.Y.) leads the Mount's offensive attack with five goals and 11 points through seven games with Lauren Engel (Red Hook, N.Y.) and KellyAnn Platt (Staten Island, N.Y.) each contributing three goals thus far.
 
Julie Roethel (Monroe, N.Y.) has found the back of the net twice for the Knights in 2019, while junior Brittany Bornstad (Linden, N.J.) paces the Mount with four assists. Classmate Haley Murphy (Massapequa, N.Y.) has helped on two goals for the Knights and is one of seven players with at least one goal and one assist on the year.
 
In goal, junior Cyan Scott (Buena Park, Calif.) has made five starts in goal for the Knights in 2019 and stopped 21 opponent shots. She holds a .568 save percentage and a 3.20 goals against average to date in 2019. Platt has started the last two games in goal for the Knights and made 12 saves.
 
Last Time Out: The Knights made the short trip across the Hudson River to take on Vassar in Poughkeepsie on September 21. After a scoreless first half, the Brewers erupted for four goals after halftime, outshooting the Knights 18-2 after the intermission. Platt made eight stops in the game for the Mount in goal.
 
Scouting The Hawks: Hartwick comes to town with a 4-2-1 overall record and is coming off a scoreless draw with St. John Fisher on September 21 in its Empire 8 opener.
 
A trio of Hawks, Julia Collado, Tanner Reed and Gabrielle Kreppein, lead the way with two goals apiece, with Collado sitting atop the team leaderboard in points with five.
 
In goal, Cassandra Robataille has played all but 52 seconds between the pipes and has earned the decision in each of the team's six games. She has posted a .793 save percentage and holds a 0.83 goals against average.
 
Recent History: Wednesday's tilt will be just the third meeting between the two teams since 2013. The Knights posted a 2-0 home win on November 13, 2013 and the Knights and Hawks played to a 1-1 draw in the 2018 Mayor's Cup in Oneonta, N.Y. on September 8 last season.
 
What's Next: The Knights continued a busy week with a Skyline Conference contest at Sarah Lawrence Saturday night and a non-conference road tilt at New York University Sunday afternoon.
