Newburgh, N.Y. – The Mount Saint Mary College Men's Tennis team suffered its second Skyline Conference loss of the season on Tuesday night following a 7-2 home defeat to Purchase. Sophomore
Jaden Tiriolo (Cheshire, Conn.) continued his strong season and remained unbeaten in singles play with a victory at the third flight.
Tiriolo pushed his singles record to a perfect 6-0 on the season following a 6-4, 6-2 win over the Panthers. He picked up the Mount's lone singles win of the match.
The Mount's other victory on Tuesday came at the second doubles position. The duo of
Shane Terry (Southampton, N.Y.) and
Matt Gallo (Clark, N.J.) moved to 2-2 on the season with a hard fought 8-7 (10-3) victory for the Knights.
Tuesday's loss drops Mount Saint Mary to 4-2 overall on the season and to 0-2 in Skyline Conference play. Next up for the Mount is a league road match at St. Joseph's-L.I. on Saturday afternoon. First serve with the Golden Eagles is scheduled for 12:00 p.m.
