Newburgh, N.Y. – The Mount Saint Mary College Women's Lacrosse team returned to action on Tuesday night as it suffered a 16-3 loss at the hands of Ramapo. Junior
Courtney Condron (Franklin Square, N.Y.) led the way with two goals for the Knights in the loss.
The Mount never led in the contest as the Roadrunners scored the first three goals of the contest. Gabi Davidson netted the first goal just two minutes into the contest and Molly Warner scored her first of the night at the 24:23 mark of the first half. Shannon Eagan got on the board for Ramapo at the 12:07 mark to give the Roadrunners a 3-0 lead.
The Knights finally got on the board when Condron found the mark with 8:16 left to cut the Ramapo advantage to two. Ramapo pushed the lead back to four after Eagan and Davidson each scored their second goal of the night.
Condron found her way to the net at the 1:53 mark for her second of the night before Eagan buried a free position goal to give the Roadrunners a 6-2 advantage heading into the halftime intermission.
Ramapo held a 16-6 advantage in shots in first half as well as a 16-4 advantage in ground balls. Mount Saint Mary held a strong advantage in draw controls at 7-2. The Roadrunners forced 17 Knight turnovers in the half.
Coming out of the break, Ramapo scored nine straight goals as its biggest lead of the contest was reached at two different points of the second half. Eagan's sixth goal of the night gave the Roadrunners a 15-3 lead with 5:48 remaining.
The Knights lone shot of the second half was
Jackie Lindsay's (Baldwin, N.Y.) free position goal with only 2:31 remaining in the second half. Eagan once again found the net for her seventh of the night with one second remaining in the contest.
Eagan led the way with seven goals and an assist for the Roadrunners as Davidson finished with four goals and three assists. Warner added three goals and Ncole Jaskot had three assists for Ramapo.

Liz Halpin (LaGrangeville, N.Y.) paced the Knights with five draw controls.
Hope Blanc (Wantagh, N.Y.) closing out a strong day with four groundballs and two caused turnovers.
Jackie Finkel (Warwick, N.Y.) made nine saves in the loss and freshman
Grace Monahan (Deer Park, N.Y.) made a stop and added a groundball in her first action of the season. Alexandra Kerwin picked up the win for the Roadrunners with a pair of stops.
Ramapo finished the day with a 36-7 advantage in shots on Sunday and an 26-5 edge in shots on goal. The Roadrunners also finished the day with an edge in groundballs at 26-11 while the Mount held a slim advantage in draw controls at 10-9. The Knights finished 8-for-17 in clearing chances, while Ramapo rapped up at 10-for-15.
At 0-2 on the season, Mount Saint Mary will be back in action in its first road contest of the season against Manhattanville on Thursday, March 14. First draw agains the Valiants is scheduled for 5:30 p.m.
