Edgewater, N.J. – The Mount Saint Mary College Men's Tennis team returned to the court for the first time since October 10 on Monday night and dropped an 8-1 road decision at Skyline Conference Preseason Favorite Yeshiva. Sophomore
Jaden Tiriolo (Cheshire, Conn.) picked up the Mount's lone win in the match.
Tiriolo moved his record to 3-0 in singles action on the season during Monday's match with a hard fought 4-6, 7-6, 10-3 win at the third position. He is one of just two players for the Knights to hold an unbeaten singles record through the season's first three matches.
In doubles action on Monday, the second pair of
Shane Terry (Southampton, N.Y.) and
Matt Gallo (Clark, N.J.) dropped a tight 8-5 decision in their first action together of the season.
Monday's loss drops Mount Saint Mary to 2-1 overall on the year and to 0-1 in Skyline Conference play. Next up for the Knights is a non-conference home match against Vaughn on Saturday afternoon. First serve with the Warriors is set for 1:00 p.m.
