Women's Lacrosse Takes Fifth Straight Loss to Vassar

Gilkey and Condron tally the lone two goals for the Knights

Poughkeepsie, N.Y. - The Mount Saint Mary College Women's Lacrosse team lost its fourth straight contest of the season on Wednesday afternoon as it dropped a 20-2 decision to Vassar. Providence Gilkey (Shirley, N.Y.) and Courtney Condron (Franklin Square, N.Y.) tallied the lone two goals for the Knights.

The Brewers scored the first three goals of the contest as three different players found the back of the net for Vassar. Condron tallied her goal at the 20:39 mark to cut the lead to 3-1.

After Condron's goal, Vassar rattled off 15 unanswered goals until Gilkey found the net at the 13:36 mark of the second half, making the score 18-2. The Brewers scored two more late goals before the end of the second half.

Annie Dolan (Poughkeepsie, N.Y.) picked up two groundballs for the Knights while Brynn Mulcahy (Wantagh, N.Y.) and Alyssa DiMare (Staten Island, N.Y.) each had caused turnover for the Mount. Meghan Cumming (Massapequa Park, N.Y.) earned a team-high two draw controls and picked up a groundball.

Tessa Waters, Gabi Patick, and Lindsay Wolk each had three goals to lead the Brewers, who had 10 different goal scorers on the afternoon. Melanie Silverman, Emily Hamburger and Grace Goodwin-Boyd each had three assists for Vassar. They also had nine different players who picked up an assist. Haydn Hallman picked up three groundballs, Fiona MacLeod had two caused turnovers and Caeli Porette and Waters each had four draw controls.

Jackie Finkel (Warwick, N.Y.) took the loss in net, making three saves on the night and Grace Monahan (Deer Park, N.Y.) saw action in net for the fourth time this season. Jackie Molloy picked up the victory in net, making four stops for the Brewers.

At 0-5 overall, the Knights complete its four game road trip against Gwynedd Mercy on Saturday, March 30. First draw with the Griffins is scheduled for 4:00 p.m.
