Men’s Basketball Returns Home To Take On Hartwick

Knights back in action for first time since Nov. 22

Newburgh, N.Y. – In search of its first win of the season, the Mount Saint Mary College Men's Basketball team returns home for the first time since the season opener on Tuesday night when it plays host to non-conference foe Hartwick. Tip-off with the Hawks is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. with Live Stats and Video available for those who cannot attend.
 
At A Glance: Mount Saint Mary enters Tuesday's contest at 0-4 overall on the season and is coming off an 83-54 road loss at RPI on November 22.
 
Senior Kendall Francis (Great Neck, N.Y.) is off to a strong start for the Knights and leads the team in scoring, assists and steals. He is averaging 20.5 points per outing through the season's first four games and is good for 5.0 assists and just under two steals per contest for the Knights. Francis is shooting an even 40.0-percent from the floor overall and an impressive 46.4-percent from three-point range.
 
Junior Jameson Morton (Woodstock, N.Y.) is the only other Knight to average double-figures in scoring on the season, posting 13.0 points per game. Morton is converting at 43.5-percent from the floor overall and is chipping in better than two rebounds per game.
 
Paul Sienke (Washington, D.C.) is top on the team on the glass with 4.5 caroms per night and is contributing 6.3 points per contest for the Knights. Fellow junior Ethan Fox (Wallingford, Conn.) is scoring 5.0 points per game to date and is good for just over one blocked shot per night.
 
Mount Saint Mary is posting 61.5 points per game as a team and is converting on 37.4-percent of its field goal chances and 28.3-percent of its three-point chances. The Knights are being out rebounded by 8.2 boards per game and are converting better than 15 points on opponent turnovers per contest.
 
Last Time Out: The Knights dropped their fourth straight game to open the season with an 83-54 road loss at RPI on November 22. Francis was the only Knight in double-figures with 21 points as the Mount shot 37.7-percent overall and just 15.4-percent from three-point range.
 
RPI, who shot 47.6-percent for the game, showed four players in double-figures led by 15 points apiece from Jonny Angbazo and Patrick Mahoney.
 
Scouting Hartwick: The Hawks come to town with a 5-1 record, including an 87-80 win over Farmingdale State on November 16 and a 68-59 triumph over Vassar in their most recent outing at Vassar on November 23.
 
The Hawks feature four players scoring in double-figures, led by 16.5 points per night from Tommy Kelly. Kelly is shooting a blistering 60.0-percent (18-for-30) from three-point range as well as an efficient 46.2-percent from the floor overall.
 
Kyle Bradshaw is chipping in 13.8 points per game and leads the team with 3.2 helpers per game, while Bobby Connors and Pat Garey are checking in with 12.7 and 11.2 points per game, respectively. Connors is tops on the team with 7.2 rebounds per game and 1.2 blocks per outing.
 
Hartwick is scoring 76.3 points per contest and is outscoring its opponents by nearly eight points per game. The Hawks shoot better than 42-percent from the floor as a team and nearly 36.0-percent as a unit from bonus distance.
 
Recent History: The two sides have not met since the 2007-08 season with the Hawks scoring a tight 49-47 win at the Kaplan Center on November 17, 2007.
 
What's Next: The Mount heads back on the road after another extended break when its travels to Lehman on December 11. Tip-off with the Lightning in the Bronx is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
