Knights Close Out 2019 Against Marywood

Newburgh, N.Y. – The Mount Saint Mary College Men's Basketball team plays the second game of a five game home stand and closes out the decade on Monday afternoon when it welcomes Marywood to the Kaplan Center for a 2:00 p.m. tip-off. Live Stats and Video will be available for those who cannot attend the non-conference contest.
 
At A Glance: The Knights have dropped their last two contests and enter Monday's tilt with a 1-6 overall record following a 76-65 loss to Cobleskill on December 13.
 
Senior Kendall Francis (Great Neck, N.Y.) leads a pair of Knights scoring in double-figures through seven games with a team best 19.7 points per outing. Francis is shooting an efficient 40.7-percent from three-point range and leads the Mount with just over four assists per game.
 
Jameson Morton (Woodstock, N.Y.) checks in with nearly 12 points per game for the Mount and is shooting 45.1-percent from the field, while Tristan Millett (Allentown, N.J.) is good for better than two steals per game for Mount Saint Mary.
 
Paul Sienke (Washington, D.C.) chips in nearly eight points per game and is shooting 55.6-percent from the floor, while Ethan Fox (Wallingford, Conn.) leads the Mount on the backboards with 5.1 caroms per game to go along with 1.1 blocks and 7.7 points per contest.
 
Mount Saint Mary is scoring just under 64 points per game and shoots 38.4-percent from the floor overall and 30.5-percent from three-point range.
 
Last Time Out: In its final game before the Holiday Break, the Mount suffered a 76-65 loss to Cobleskill on December 13. The Knights shot 40.7-percent for the game, while Cobleskill converted at nearly 46-percent and outscored the Mount by 10 in points off of turnovers.
Francis led four Knights in double-figures with 17 points with Fox producing 10 points and a team-high eight rebounds.
 
Cobleskill was led by a game-high 25 points from James Conteh, while Antwan Claxton posted a double-double with 18 points and 10 rebounds.
 
Previewing The Pacers: Marywood comes to town winners of three of its last four contests and with a 5-6 record overall. The Pacers are coming off a ten-point win over Misericordia on December 7 and a seven-point triumph over Elizabethtown in their most recent outing on December 14.
 
The Marywood scoring attack features a trio of players averaging at least 12 points per game, led by 21.3 from Jack DeGroot. DeGroot shoots 45-percent from both the field overall and three-point range, entering Monday's tilt 27-for-60 from bonus distance.
 
Adam Boussatta is good for 15.9 points per outing for Marywood, shooting 45.8-percent from the floor, to go along with a team-high 6.4 rebounds per night. Donovan Catchings checks in with just over 12 points per contest for the Pacers and is averaging just shy of six assists per game.
 
Marywood is scoring 75.5 points per game through the season's first 11 games, shooting 43.9-percent overall and 35.8-percent from three-point range.
 
Recent History: The two sides have met three times since 2014, with Marywood scoring victories in the last two meetings. The Pacers posted a 78-59 win in Scranton on December 16, 2015 before topping the Knights at home again on December 30, 2017 by a score of 72-65.
 
What's Next: The Mount opens the New Year and continues its season-long home stand on January 2 when it plays host to Suffolk. Tip-off with the Rams is set for 4:00 p.m.
