Newburgh, N.Y. – The Mount Saint Mary College Men's Soccer team will look to win its third straight Skyline Conference Championship on Saturday afternoon when it plays host to sixth seeded Maritime for the conference final matchup. Kick-off with the Privateers at Kaplan Field is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. with Live Stats and Video available for those unable to attend.
 
At A Glance: The Mount enters Saturday's final as the high seed after defeating fourth seed Farmingdale State 2-1 in double overtime in a thrilling semifinal contest on Wednesday evening. The Knights concluded the regular season going 10-1-1 in their final 12 regular season contests.
 
Sophomore 
Connor Doyle (New Windsor, N.Y.) leads the offensive attack for the Mount with 14 goals and 31 points, while senior 
Joey Dolan (New Paltz, N.Y.) checks in with 13 tallies and 30 points. Sophomore 
Matt Wyant (Beacon, N.Y.) is in the midst of a strong season, entering Wednesday's semifinal with 24 points on the strength of ten goals and four assists assists. The trio atop the team leaderboard in points have combined for ten of the team's 14 game winning goals, with Dolan potting six and Doyle and Wyant each adding two.
 
In all, the Mount has had 10 different players find the scoring column to date, with five players totaling at least two tallies. Freshman 
Peter Ramirez (Newburgh, N.Y.) holds the team lead with seven assists with Junior 
Joseph Mesoraca (Oceanside, N.Y.) adding six helpers on the season. Dolan and Wyant have each tallied four assists to date with Doyle registering three helpers.
 
Junior 
Tyler Rapp (East Berne, N.Y.) has started 18 games of the 20 games in goal for the Mount and has played 1,579:50 of a possible 1,849:55. He has made 78 saves to date and holds a 1.20 goals against average and a .788 save percentage to go along with three shutouts.
 
Last Time Out: Dolan scored the game-winning goal with 55 seconds remaining in double overtime to send the Mount to the Skyline Conference Championship Final on Wednesday night The 2-1 double overtime victory ties the program's single season wins record.
 
The Mount got on the board early as Wyant played a free kick in the box from 45 yards out and found the head of senior 
Jonathan Schefer (Greenlawn, N.Y.) in the 3rd minute. Schefer's first goal of the season came at the 2:25 mark of the first half.
 
Farmingdale State drew even in the second half when Bryan Argueta dribbled a ball in from the midfield and buried a strong shot past the keeper in the 67th minute. The goal was Argueta's seventh of the season at the 66:19 mark.
With just over a minute remaining in the second overtime, Doyle played a header off a free kick from Wyant but Farmingdale's defender made a crucial save to keep the game tied. After a scramble for the ball, Schefer played a cross into the box as Ramirez fed the ball to Dolan who buried it in the bottom left corner of the net to send the Knights to the Skyline final.
 
Dolan and Ramirez led the Knights in shots with three each as Schefer finished the night with three points. Rapp picked up the victory in goal for Mount Saint Mary as he made six saves on the night.
 
Scouting The Privateers: The sixth-seeded Privateers enter the championship final after upsetting the third seeded USMMA 3-2 (2OT) on the road and then upsetting second seed Manhattanville after advancing 5-4 on penalty kicks following a scoreless draw through two overtimes.
 
Nicholas Gino and Christopher Tavernese lead a balanced scoring attack with six goals and 14 points apiece. Frank Schmidt has added five goals on the season as 17 different players have tallied a goal for Maritime. Thomas Kropp leads the Privateers in assists with eight with 13 players registering a helper.
 
Michael Rodriquez and Ethan Silver have split the time in goal for Maritime as Rodriquez has played 1117:49 of a possible 2047:49 in net. Rodriquez has made 38 saves while posting a 1.13 goals against average and a save percentage of .731. Silver has made 37 saves in 844:45 minutes of action and holds a 1.07 GAA and a save percentage of .787.
 
Regular Season Meeting: Wyant scored his seventh goal of the year and 
Anthony Guglielmo (Setauket, N.Y.) potted his first goal of the season as Mount Saint Mary won its fourth straight contest against Maritime on October 9
th.
 
Wyant's seventh goal of the season came at the 35:25 mark as 
Matt Flanagan (Rhinebeck, N.Y.) crossed a ball into the box and found Wyant's head to give the Knights the 1-0 lead. Mount Saint Mary held a 10-2 shots advantage in the first half as well as a 2-0 corner kicks edge.
 
Guglielmo scored his first goal of the season with 29 seconds remaining in the half on a long pass from Dolan from the defensive zone. Mount Saint Mary held a 10-1 advantage in the second half as well as a 4-0 corner kicks edge. The Knights concluded the day with a 20-3 edge in shots, including a 6-1 advantage in shots on goal and a 6-0 edge in corner kicks.
 
Championship History: The Mount looks to defend its crown for the second straight season following back-to-back conference titles in 2017 and 2018. The Knights are in the Skyline final for the fifth time since 2012 and are searching for their fourth title. Maritime is making their first appearance in the Skyline Conference championship game since 2011 and looking for their first title since that same year.
 
What's At Stake: The winner of Saturday's final will earn the automatic bid to the NCAA Division III Men's Soccer tournament that begins next weekend.
