Knights Host Mount Saint Vincent Saturday Afternoon

Knights look for consecutive wins for first time in 2019

Newburgh, N.Y. – Searching for back-to-back wins for the first time in 2019, the Mount Saint Vincent College Women's Soccer team plays host to league rival the College of Mount Saint Vincent Saturday afternoon at Kaplan Field. Live Stats and Video are available for those who cannot attend the 1:00 p.m. kick-off.
 
At A Glance: The Knights have won two of their last three outings overall and stand at 3-8 through 11 games and a perfect 3-0 against league rivals following a 5-0 win on the road at Maritime Wednesday night.
 
Senior Chrissy Cannella (Cornwall, N.Y.) continues to lead the Mount's offensive attack with seven goals and 16 points, while KellyAnn Platt (Staten Island, N.Y.) and Lauren Engel (Red Hook, N.Y.) have each potted three goals. Engel sits second on the team to Cannella with seven points on the season.
 
Maeve Ward (Warwick, N.Y.), Gina Rivera (Washingtonville, N.Y.), Julie Roethel (Monroe, N.Y.) and Nikki Carter (Southington, Conn.) have each scored twice for the Knights, with Carter, Cannella and Platt accounting for the Mount's three game winning tallies.
 
Junior Brittany Bornstad (Linden, N.J.) leads a trio of players with at least two assists on the season with a team-high four helpers, with Cannella and Haley Murphy (Massapequa, N.Y.) each helping on a pair of tallies.
 
In goal, junior Cyan Scott (Buena Park, Calif.) has made nine starts in 2019, playing 810:00 of a possible 990:00. She has stopped 38 opponent shots and holds a goals against average of 2.22 and a save percentage of .655. Platt has made the other two starts in goal and made 12 saves for the Knights.
 
Last Time Out: The Knights closed out a three game road swing on Wednesday with an impressive 5-0 win at Maritime. Rivera scored twice for the Knights with Cannella and Ward adding markers. The Mount's second goal of the night came on an own goal.
 
Scott recorded her third shutout of the season against the Privateers, making three second half saves as the Knights posted a 17-3 advantage in shots on the night.
 
A Look At The Dolphins: Mount Saint Vincent has dropped its last three outings and stands at 3-4-1 overall and 0-2-0 in Skyline Conference play. The Dolphins have scored just twice over the three game losing streak, falling to New Paltz 4-1, Sarah Lawrence 1-0 and Manhattanville 3-1.
 
Cristina Britton leads five players with at least two goals on the year with three, including one game winning tally. Grace Barry is the only player with more than one assist on the season, leading the team with three helpers to date.
 
In goal, Kora-Lynn McCullough has seen all the action covering 740:00, posting a 1.82 goals against average and a .766 save percentage.
 
Recent History: Since the start of the 2007 season, the two teams have met 14 times with the Knights undefeated over that stretch, allowing only three goals.
 
What's Next: The Knights play first of two straight road conference games on October 8 when they head to Old Westbury for 3:30 p.m. kick-off with the Panthers.
