Newburgh, N.Y. – The Mount Saint Mary College Women's Soccer team returns to action for the first time since October 8 when it plays host to Manhattanville on Saturday afternoon. Live Stats and Video will be available for those who cannot attend the 1:00 p.m. contest at Kaplan Field.

Following two goals against the Panthers, senior
Chrissy Cannella (Cornwall, N.Y.) leads the offensive attack with 12 goals and 26 points.
Cannella is one of eight players with at least two goals on the season, with
Gina Rivera (
Washingtonville, N.Y.) registering four goals for the Mount.
Two-time Skyline Conference Defensive Player of the Week Brittany
Bornstad (Linden, N.J.) paces the team with five assists. Five players have also dished out two assists apiece for the Knights.
In goal, junior
Cyan Scott (Buena Park, Calif.) has made 10 of a possible 12 starts for the Mount and played 990:00 of a possible 1170:00. She has stopped 43 opponent shots, recorded four shutouts and holds a 1.91 goals against average and a .672 save percentage. Kelly Ann Platt (Staten Island, N.Y.) has seen action in the other two contests for the Knights, stopping 12 shots.

Massapequa, N.Y.) added markers as the Mount Saint Mary College Women's Soccer team eased to its third straight win with a 6-0 road victory at Old Westbury.
Mount Saint Mary got on the board with the eventual game winning tally just 1:56 into the contest when
Cannella potted her first of the day. She finished off a pass from
Nikki Carter (Southington, Conn.) to give the Mount an early 1-0 lead.
The Knights would go on to score four more goals prior to halftime, with Rivera giving the Mount a 2-0 lead with an unassisted tally in the
16th minute.
Cannella added her second of the game at the 31:31 mark when she finished off a passing play from Nicky
Wurglics (Glendale, N.Y.) and
Bornstad to give the Mount a 3-0 lead.
The Mount surged in front 5-0 prior to the intermission when Murphy and Ward scored just 28 seconds apart in the
43rd minute. Murphy found the top corner at 42:04 to give the Mount a 4-0 advantage before Ward worked her way into the box and behind the Panther defense at 42:32 to round out the first half scoring.
The lone goal of the second stanza came in the
67th minute when Rivera tallied for the second time on the day and the fourth time in 2019. She buried a pass from
Liz Ellsworth (
Suffern, N.Y.) at 66:33 to give the Knights the final six-goal advantage.
Scott recorded her fourth shutout of the year and her second in the last three games with two stops on Wednesday. She lowered her goals against average on the season to 1.91 and raised her save percentage to .672.
Scouting Manhattanville: The Valiants coming calling on Saturday winners of their last two outings and four of their last five and stand at 8-6 overall on the season and a perfect 6-0 against Skyline Conference rivals.
A balanced scoring attack features a trio of players with at least 10 goals on the season, led by 11 markers each from Ashley Pacheco and Natalie Aracena. Pacheco has helped on nine other goals and paces the squad with 31 points. Amaya Gonzalez is also in the midst of a standout offensive season with 10 tallies and 23 points.
Ashley Hayes leads the team with 12 assists through 14 games and is one of five players with at least 20 points on the season. Samira Davis checks in with seven goals and eight assists, good for 22 points on the season for the Valiants.
A trio of goalkeepers have seen time between the pipes in 2019, with Alexa Pyatsky seeing the bulk of action, playing 810:00 of a possible 1260:00. She holds a 2.78 goals against average and a .561 save percentage for Manhattanville while making 32 saves.
Recent History: Since the start of the 1992 season, the two sides have hooked by 16 times with the Mount posting a 7-8-1 record. The Valiants posted eight straight wins from 1999-2006, with the Mount snapping the losing skid with a 1-0 win in Newburgh in 2018, the first meeting 12 seasons.
What's Next: The Knights begin a busy week with a trip to Purchase on Tuesday before hosting Farmingdale State on Thursday and national power William Smith on Sunday afternoon.
