Newburgh, N.Y. – The Mount Saint Mary College Men's Basketball team completes a six game road trip following a trip to Maritime on Thursday at 7:00 p.m. and Farmingdale State on Saturday at 3:30 p.m.
At A Glance: The Knights are 7-3 (3-1 Skyline) on the season following two losses at the Captains Shootout against #18 Christopher Newport and Alvernia to close out 2018.
Kendall Francis (Great Neck, N.Y.) is the leading scorer with 22.2 points per game,
Paul Sienke (Washington, D.C.) is second with 12.6,
Jameson Morton (Woodstock, N.Y.) adds 8.8 per contest and
Connor Bacci (Bayside, N.Y.) chips in 7.1.
Ethan Fox (Wallingford, C.T.) leads in rebounding with 5.9, Sienke is averages 5.3 per contest and Bacci rips down 5.1 per game.
Francis and Bacci are tied for the lead in assists with 25 and
Tristan Millett (Allentown, N.J.) chips in 19 helpers. Fox leads the team in blocks with 12 and Bacci leads in steals with 14 while Millett and Francis each have 12 on the season.
As a team, the Mount is shooting 43.7-percent from the field and 32.1-percent from the three-point line, averaging 69.3 points per game. Defensively, the Mount is holding teams to 39.0-percent and 28.5-percent from the three-point line, allowing 69.4 points per night.
Last Time Out: The Mount suffered consecutive losses for the first time this season following a 63-58 overtime defeat to Alvernia in the Consolation Game of the 2018 Crowne Plaza Captains Shootout.
Francis was the only Knight in double-figures with 17 points. He added an assist and a pair of steals for the Knights. Morton came off the bench to finish with eight points and five rebounds, while Fox hauled in 13 rebounds and was one of three Knights to finish with six points.
Mount Saint Mary finished the day shooting 36.5-percent and went 6-for-18 from three-point range.
A Look At Maritime: The Privateers are 2-8 (1-4 Skyline) on the season with their last game being a loss to Yeshiva on December 8.
Brendan McGovern is the leading scorer with 17.0 points per game, Brennan Whalen averages 11.8 and Michael Walker chips in 11.4 points per contest. Walker is the leading rebounder with 4.0 per game, Chris Ruscillo averages 3.5, Damon Brown adds 3.2 and Ronan Doherty chips in 3.0.
Whalen is the leader in assists with 55 while Walker and Brown add 12 apiece. McGovern is the steals leader with 16, Walker has 13 and Mike Regan has 10 steals on the year. Walker and Brown are tied for the blocks lead with five.
Maritime averages 70.8 points per game on 40.2-percent from the field and 31.3-percent from the three-point arc. Defensively, the Privateers allow 81.8 per game on 48.4-percent from the field and 32.2-percent from three.
Scouting Farmingdale State: The Rams are 7-4 (5-1 Skyline) this season following consecutive losses to Yeshiva and Ramapo. They will take on Sarah Lawrence on Thursday.
Farmingdale has four players averaging double digits with Ryan Kennedy leading with 15.0 points per game. George Riefenstahl is second with 14.1, Matthew Graham averages 13.1 and Ali Mableton adds 11.6 per contest.
Riefenstahl is the leading rebounder with 11.0, good for a double-double on the season. Jermaine Fraser averages 6.0 per contest and Troy Feeney adds 4.6 per game.
Mableton is the assist leader with 38 and Graham adds 31 on the season. Mableton is also the steals leader with 22, Kyle Beeson and Riefenstahl has added 11 apiece and Kennedy has chipped in 10 apiece. Riefenstahl leads in blocks with 27 and De'Shawn Lawson has 10 on the year.
What's Next: The Knights return home to take on Sarah Lawrence on Tuesday. Tip-off is scheduled for 8:00 p.m. at the Kaplan Center.
