Women's Volleyball Begins Busy Week At Farmingdale State

Knights looking to extend four match winning streak

Newburgh, N.Y. – The Mount Saint Mary College Women's Volleyball team begins a four match stretch with three of them being Skyline contests. The Knights will first travel to Farmingdale State on Tuesday at 7 p.m. to open conference play and then will return home to play non-conference opponent, New Jersey City University, on Thursday at 7 p.m. On the weekend, the Mount will head to Old Westbury to face-off with league rivals Mount Saint Vincent and the host Panthers at 12 and 2 p.m.

At a Glance: The Knights are on a four match winning streak, improving their record to 6-8. They swept Notre Dame of Maryland and Centenary on Saturday.

Morgan Burke continues leads the team in kills with 104 as well as blocks with 22, while Kim Gries continues to lead the team in assists with 334. Klaire Wall leads in aces with 21 and digs with 149.

A Look At Farmingdale State: The Rams are sitting at 3-12 on the season after being swept by Moravian on Saturday.

The trio of Annie Cosgrove, Kate Flamio, and Kelsey Voiklis have combined for 262 kills. Angie Yarrow is the leader in assists with 289 and aces with 18.

Kellianne Dempsey leads the team in digs with 152. Voiklis leads the team in blocks with 45 and Dalia Cleckley is second with 26.

Previewing New Jersey City: The Gothic Knights are 3-8 on the season after being swept by Kean on Thursday. They will play Stockton on Tuesday before playing the Mount on Thursday.

Pamela Florimon leads the attack with 102 kills, while Amber O'Donnell and Stephanie Duque have 83 and 73 kills respectively. Shaylah Ware is the leading assist getter with 243. Duque leads in aces with 25 while Ware is second with 24.

Georgina Rayo leads the team in digs with 128 and O'Donnell is second with 127. Naiomi Cintron leads with 18 blocks and Florimon and Diana Trochimowicz have 15 and 13 respectively.

Scouting Mount Saint Vincent: The Dolphins are off to a slow start at 2-10 on the season. They will play Maritime and USMMA this week before playing the Knights this weekend.

Tara Maloney leads the team in kills with 87. Madison Gale and Patsy Sewell lead the team in assists with a combined 276. Gale also leads with 17 aces.

Gale, Alexandra Rio, Maloney and Chrissy Sewell lead the Dolphins in digs with a combined 382. Rianna Rivera and Maloney are tied for the team lead in blocks with nine apiece.

Analyzing Old Westbury: The Panthers are 1-10 on the season. They were beaten twice this weekend by Albertus Magnus and Rutgers-Newark.

Joelle Desrosiers leads the attack with 69 kills. Kyraleigh Zinnel leads the team in assists with 115 and Kristin Grieshaber is second with 97. Zinnel also leads the team in aces with 32.

Sofia Goris leads the team in digs with 124 and Grieshaber is second with 114. Desrosiers leads the team in blocks with 25 and Danielle Corsi is second with 21.

What's Next: The Knights continue their Skyline schedule when they travel to Kings Point to take on USMMA on October 3. First serve is scheduled for 7 p.m.
