Newburgh, N.Y. – The Mount Saint Mary College Women's Volleyball team plays host to City College of New York on Tuesday at 7:00 p.m. The Knights will then travel to Brooklyn to face off against Pratt Institute at 11:00 a.m. and Rosemount College at 3:00 p.m. in a two match set.
At a Glance: The Knights finished this weekend's tournament at New Paltz with a 1-3 record, bringing their season record to 1-7.
Junior
Morgan Burke leads the team in kills with 47 as well as blocks with 13. Senior
Kim Gries is the leader in assists with 179 for the Knights.
Sophomore
Klaire Wall leads the team with 10 aces and 85 digs on the season.
A Look At CCNY: The Beavers are 3-3 on the season after splitting two matches on Saturday. They were swept by College of Staten Island and then rebounded to defeat Lehman College, 3-1.
CCNY's attacking is led by the trio of Cha-Neice Gordon, Nicole Polanco and Kayla Oge, who have combined for 96 kills. Dzeneta Harambasic is the main setter for Beavers with 106 assists. Rachel Ramirez leads with 18 aces.
Polanco leads the team in digs with 45, while Oge leads the team in blocks with 9.0.
Previewing Pratt Institute: The Cannoneers are 1-4 on the season after being swept in four straight matches following their season opening win.
Pratt is led by freshman Madeline Markley who has 28 kills on the season. Avery Toomes leads the team in assists with 72. Toomes and Markley are tied for the team lead in aces with 10.
Pratt has eight players that have 10 digs or more to their credit. Oliver Buika, Cori Glidden, and Markley all have five or more blocks on the season.
The Cannoneers will play Centenary College on Friday before their match against Mount Saint Mary on Saturday.
Scouting Rosemount College: The Ravens are off to a 1-4 start on the season following getting swept in two matches this weekend.
The trio of Lohi Naone-Carter, Holly Brady and Abigail Brooks have combined for 83 kills. Alyssa Springer is the team leader in assists with 72. Naone-Carter (26) and Springer (15) are the leaders in aces.
Naone-Carter is also the leader in digs for Rosemont with 47. Brooks is the team leader in blocks with 6.0.
What's Next: The Knights continue their road trip when they travel to SUNY Delhi on Wednesday, September 19
th. The match is set for a 7:00 p.m. start.
