Knights Close Four Game Home Stand Against Staten Island, Yeshiva

Knights look to snap two game skid Tuesday night

Newburgh, N.Y. – The Mount Saint Mary College Women's Basketball team finishes its four game homestand against the College of Staten Island on Tuesday at 7 p.m. and Yeshiva on Thursday at 6 p.m.

At a Glance: The Knights suffered their second consecutive loss to Vassar on Tuesday to drop them to 1-2 on the season.

Katie Smith (Goshen, N.Y.) leads the Knights in scoring with 11.0 points and Kayla Cleare (West Hempstead, N.Y.) is next with 10.7, while adding 10.3 rebounds to average a double-double.

Elizabeth Limonta (Stewart Manor, N.Y.) is averaging 6.3 points and 8.0 rebounds per game and Annie Keenan (Nesconset, N.Y.) averages 8.0 points and 5.3 rebounds a night.

Lauren Desrats (Warwick, N.Y.) and Smith are tied for the assists lead with six apiece. Freshman Toriana Tabasco (Hillsdale, N.Y.) is the steal leader with six for the season.

Last Time Out: The Mount dropped a non-conference contest to Vassar on Tuesday, 69-58. Cleare led the Knights with a double-double, scoring 17 points and ripping down 14 rebounds on the night. Keenan had 13 points, adding seven rebounds.

Smith had nine points and chipped in three rebounds, one assist and one steal. Desrats and Tabasco each had two steals to lead the Mount.

Vassar held the slim shooting advantage of 39 percent to 35 percent as well as the three-point percentage at 33 percent to 17 percent.

A Look At CSI: The Dolphins are 3-1 on the season following a 70-56 defeat against Misericordia on Tuesday. They have wins over St. Joseph's-Brooklyn, NYU and William Paterson.

Sophomore Megan McEwan leads in points with 16.8 per game, Diana Todaro is second with 12.3 and Kayla Schmitter is third with 10.8.

Todaro leads in rebounds with 8.3, Schmitter is second with 6.3 and Rosa Perone is third with 5.3. Jacquelyn Cali and McEwan are tied for the team lead in assists with 10. McEwan also holds the team lead in steals with 14.

The Dolphins shoot 37 percent from the field and 21 percent from the three-point line. They have held opponents to 53 points per game on 32 percent shooting from the field.

Scouting Yeshiva: The Maccabees have started the season at 3-1, winning two straight games over The King's College and Sarah Lawrence. They face off against St. Joseph's-Brooklyn on Tuesday night.
Tehilla Teigman is the leading scorer with 17.5 points per game, Nicole Bick is second with 15.0, and Michal Alge is third with 12.0.

Alge is averaging a double-double with 10.5 rebounds to go with the 12.0 points per game. Teigman is second in rebounding with 8.0. Alge also leads in assists with 15 and Bick is second with 11. Alge has the steals lead with 18 and Teigman is next with 12.

The Maccabees are averaging 72 points per game on 38 percent shooting while holding opponents to 52.8 points on 32 percent shooting.
